The online messaging service is also rolling out new features quite frequently to enhance the users’ experience on the app. Reports mention that it is all set to roll out 11 new features. 138 New Emojis
Yes, that’s right. WhatsApp has rolled out 138 new emojis on its latest Android Beta version. These emojis don’t depict emotions but professions that were earlier missing- like chef, farmer etc. New colour tones on people, that is racial emojis are also introduced, along with wheelchair emojis. Stickers will also have a variety of hairstyles from now on.
Add Contacts Via QR Code
WhatsApp’s QR Code feature was generally used to interact with businesses. Scanning their QR code, you were easily able to peek into their chat window and have a conversation with the. The QR Code feature has now advanced to let you add contacts by scanning the other person’s QR Code.
Better Voice Over
A lot of us lazy bones like sending voice notes instead of typing out long messages. But this feature can sometimes give troubles like breaking of voice or inaudibility. But WhatsApp is all set to improve the voice over feature as a part of the upcoming WhatsApp features.
Dark Mode for WhatsApp Web
At the beginning of 2020, WhatsApp had launched the Dark Mode feature for its mobile version. This was a much-anticipated feature that finally came through and now WhatsApp might make it available for the web version too. The dark feature will now be available both on desktop and web.
Focus On One Person In Group Video Calls
WhatsApp’s mobile version just increased the number of people attending a video call from 4 to 8. The now will now let you focus on a person from the group video call and view him/her in full screen. All you need to do is tap twice on that particular person’s video.
Messenger Rooms
WhatsApp is also introducing the concept of messenger rooms as a part of the upcoming WhatsApp features. This will increase the number of people suitable for attending a video call to 50. However, this feature will only be available for people using the desktop version of the app.

Multi-Device Support
WhatsApp has been working on enabling the same account on different devices since quite some time now. This feature might be named as Linked Devices. This feature will sync the account’s chat history, archived messages, starred messages and the like, and display the same in all the devices connected to that account.

WhatsApp has recently introduced the add sticker option and it has already garnered immense popularity. There are even people whose sole mode of interaction these days is via stickers. So this is surely good news for them. WhatsApp is all set to introduce four new sticker packs- Bright Days, Chummy Chum Chums, Moody Foodies and Rico’s Sweet Life.
One-Tap Group Video Call
As one of the upcoming WhatsApp features, WhatsApp will launch a Group Video Call option on group chats. This call will allow a maximum of 8 members of the group in WhatsApp’s mobile version.
Permanent Mute Option
We all know-how annoying Whatsapp group notifications can be. No one wants to constantly hear pings of messages from the group chats and hence, mute group notifications. But this muting feature lasts mostly for six months. But with this upcoming WhatsApp feature, you can easily mute these super-active groups permanently and lay down in peace.
WhatsApp Status for KaiOS
KaiOS is a mobile operating service that runs on keypad phones like JioPhone. KaiOS phones have recently availed the official WhatsApp but are missing some key features uploading statuses. As per the latest updates, the WhatsApp users on KaiOS will soon be able to add WhatsApp statuses that disappear after 24 hours.
WhatsApp might launch these new features in the coming weeks.
