"Coastal Elites Cast"

.Playwright and Screenwriter Tom Rudnick has come up with a unique piece of Production. When he had first written it the world was a very different place than it is now at the time of its launch. The Coastal Elites of HBO is an unusual project where elites confess and occasionally vent their feelings about Trump and this Pandemic. Through this new show, Tom Rudnick conveys the take of these Coastal Elites on Trump.

The name of the show was derived from the fact that every Elite lives on different coasts while the time of the recording. When Rudnick started working on this production he had imagined it as a stage production where the focus of Coastal elites on Trump and larger political issues. But as the pandemic hit the world he thought it would be shelved. But the monologue concept of the show was just the right fit for filming amid the pandemic.

More About “Coastal Elites”

A ruffled teacher, a nervous Actor, A girl with connections in high places, and a Nurse who transferred to New York for work. These are the voices on the Coastal Elites. The monologues started in January and went on till June. So Rudnick was able to focus on some before the Pandemic scenarios.

“Nurse Sharynn from Coastal Elites”

The monologues start with Rae’s character who is a cheeky socialite. She went to school with Ivanka Trump and thus the take of Coastal Elites on Trump begins. She talks about how it was growing up with Ivanka and what happened when her father was invited to the White house.

Levy plays the role of an offbeat actor and his monologue is not about the politics of the world. But more about Politics in Hollywood. Basically what it means to be a Gay actor in Hollywood. It is not about the pandemic but it is offbeat and eye-opening.

Paulson plays Clarisse and her focus is on Trump and the Pandemic and how it cohabits with her family. She is the most relatable character for all. Then there is Dever who plays Sharynn a gentle nurse. The show deviates most for her monologue as she is not an elite but a nurse who came to New York to help out during the Pandemic. I think she is my favorite character. So compassionate and Kind. And amazingly Rudnick says Dever character is based on the reality that people did move to New York to help out. This makes us believe that the World is Still a Good Place.
