Tamil Nadu Exam 2020 : Latest Updates

The coronavirus outbreak has laid a huge negative impact on human lives. Various sectors face a full stop in their mark. Similarly, Tamil Nadu public exam 2020 is also under great confusion. The Tamil Nadu state public exams for class 10th or TN SSLC decides to commence on June 15, 2020, in the state. Today the Madras High Court almost makes it clear in its statement,” We stand in favour to restrain the state from conducting Board exams for class 10th. We will decide on TN SSLC exams soon.” The Board already releases the admit card for Class 10 Public exams on June 4. The examination would conclude on June 25, 2020. Students will have to be there to report in the examination halls before 9.45 am for thermal screening. Exams would start at 10 am.

State Versus high court dilemma

The court asks if the Tamil Nadu government can give an assurance that no child will get an infection with COVID-19 once the exams start. As per a report the court said, “We cannot allow the authority to put lives of more than 9 lakh children at stake. This is not like opening shops during the lockdown.”

A various scenario of the dilemma is rising in various states regarding the educational exams. Tamil Nadu government is also facing this confusion. However, the division of the bench of Justice Vineet Kothari and Justice Suresh Kumar did not clear the order yet today and adjourned the hearing to 2:30 pm for the state to inform about its stand. This hearing took place in regards to the Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary School Graduate Teachers Association’s plea challenging the Board conducting exams from June 15, 2020. The confusion is still intact regarding the Tamil Nadu public exams 2020.

 

Conduction of exam becomes a new debate topic of politics

Various confusion regarding the decision about various exams in respective states has now become a new topic of debate. Various political leaders often contradict each other on this grilled topic. Opposition parties now use the conduction of exam as a new weapon for targeting the government. Uncertain future of students has now become a political game in various states.

Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, the association desires for the exams to get delay for another 15 days after the announcement of dates. This is because the number of cases is rising every day in Tamil Nadu. This can pose a great danger to students attending class 10th, 11th, 12th exams in the state. Several opposition parties also slammed the decision and lay comments like the government is trying to risk the lives of students. MSMK chief Vaiko says, “The government needs to promote all the class 10th students without conducting exams. The same method should have opted as it has been done for classes 1-9 in the state.”

The decision on coronavirus positive students still on hold

Various percentage of coronavirus positive patients also include students of high school and other standards. In such cases, decisions regarding their educational future are still on hold. Likewise, for Tamil Nadu Public Exams the school education minister says,” The department has still now not come up with any decision for students who will be detected with high temperatures or are already corona positive. The order to give exemptions to such students is still on hold. But still, the state government has procured enough thermal scanners for the health of students.”

 

Precautions while conducting TN SSLC

All appearing candidates of Class 10 will be given two face masks while coming for the examination. While speaking to TOI, the minister urged the parents to come forward and inform about their wards if they have any Covid-19 symptoms. He says, “The parents should contact the health department officials even if their son or daughter has a fever.”

All the aspirants must undergo through thermal scanning before sitting for the examination

Aspirants require to be honest if they persist any COVID-19 symptoms. All students need to wear a mask and gloves for their precaution. Masks will be available at the examination centre itself.

Tamil Nadu Exam 2020 admit card

Board notifies that Hall ticket releases from 4th June 2020 at 2 PM. Enrolled and registered students can download the exam hall ticket from the official website of Tamil Nadu board’s website. Candidates can take a hard copy of it before appearing in the examination. Students need to regularly visit the official web portal to get the latest updates.
