Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

Trump on American soldiers does not show the concept of patriotism and sacrifice. Rather he refers to them as  ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’. Trump has always managed to avoid visits to events which honour the soldiers. He showcases no respect for soldiers who have given their lives for America.

In 2018, Trump had cancelled his visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Paris. He blamed it on the rain, which is not true. He claimed to his colleagues “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”. This is clearly an attitude that people do no expect from their President.

One of the most important battles the Americans have fought is the Belleau Wood. It also symbolises America’s contribution to World War 1. The soldiers stopped the Germans ad defeated them in the spring of 1918.

On that same trip, Trump argued “Who were the good guys in this war?”. He also believes that America should not have participated in that war.

Trump on American soldiers has been disrespecting the service provided by the soldiers. This was also evident in 2015 when expressed his views on the late Senator John McCain. McCain had to spend 5 years in the North Vietnamese prison. Trump said “He’s not a war hero” and “I like people who weren’t captured.”

This is the kind of President, Americans have chosen for themselves, who fails to pay the respect the soldiers deserve.
