Therefore, players on a particular console such as a PC can only play with other PC players. This is applicable to both PlayStation 4 players and Xbox One.
Situations may arise where your friends don’t have their GTA 5 on the same platform or console as yours. You can, however, locate and make new gaming friends via GTA Online.
REASONS FOR NON AVAILABILITY OF GTA 5 ON CROSSPLATFORM
One of the major reasons for its non-availability on cross-platform may, however, be due to the vast number of GTA 5 mods available for PC. Although very exciting, these mods constitute a major reason why cross-platform play is not available.
The PC version of the game also has a completely different balancing if you compare it with PS4 and Xbox. Also, GTA 5 doesn’t possess cross-save support. This implies that you won’t be able to transfer your saved game from one console to another, despite your preferences or choice. Alternatively, you will have to start the game all over again. The developers of GTA online have not deemed it necessary to provide features that will enable gamers to transfer their saved games from one platform to the other.

Although you can easily connect your Playstation or Xbox Live account to your Epic Games account, however, it will not result in a transfer of progress or statistics. Players would not be able to continue where they left- off but would have to restart from the beginning and play the game all over again. POSSIBILITY OF GTA 5 ONLINE ON CROSS-PLATFORM
Despite the expectations of gamers, Rockstar hasn’t provided gta 5 cross-platform support for it. Rockstar has neither provided cross-platform for their recent title, Red Dead Redemption: Online nor the earlier GTA 5 online. It is apparent that Rockstar won’t be allowing cross-play for their games. However, there exist possibilities and it is sincerely hoped that with GTA 6 cross-platform will be enabled.
