History
In 2003, Favreau was working on films like Very Bad Things and swingers. Then, unexpectedly, the crime director decided to make a christmas movie named “Elf”. At the same time, Will ferrell exited the Saturday Night Live. This movie launched both ferrel and favreau forward to becoming a live artist of the Marvel Universe.

On their 10th anniversary, the director revealed why he was chosen as the director. He told that the makers were searching for someone to make the movie. And as Favreau was a big fan of Rudolph and Santa, he stepped up and directed the movie.;
The Original Plot
This comedy-fantasy movie was made in 2003. The movie revolved around Buddy( Will Ferrel). He was adopted and raised as an elf of Santa. When Buddy realises this, he returns home to his father( James Caan) and thus spreads the spirit of christmas along the way. The movie was made on a budget of 33 million. However, the film was a box office hit. It had crossed 220.4 million dollars world wide. The Elf is supposed to be the greatest movie of the year 2017.
