Nag Ashwin, who rose to fame with much-acclaimed Mahanati, paired Prabhas and Deepika Padukone for his next film. Production house Vyjayathi movies announced the news today. Both the actors confirmed it on social media much to the excitement fo their fans. Not to mention, hashtag #Deepika had been trending on twitter. The film is a 50th-anniversary special venture of Vyjayanthi movies and will be a high budget multilingual film.
Announcement of the film
Deepika, who will be making her Telugu debut, wrote on Instagram, “Beyond thrilled! Cannot wait for what we believe is going to be an incredible journey ahead..”Prabhas welcomed his co-star saying, ” We are excited to have Deepika Padukone on board, welcome.”
Ashwin, who directed National Award-winning Mahanati shared that the fresh pairing itself is the highlight of his new film. He expressed his excitement about Deepika playing his character. Nag added it is something no mainstream lead tried before and will be a surprise. He continued that he hoped the film is going to be in the hearts of people for many years to come. Producer and founder of Vyjayanthi Movies, C Aswini Dutt said that he takes this as ‘an incredible opportunity to cement our place in the annals of Indian Cinema history and also to enthrall the Indian audiences like never before‘.
Deepika was last seen as an acid attack survivor in Meghana Gulzar’s Chhapak. Likewise, she is awaiting the release of 83, which features her husband and actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
As for Prabhas, this is his 21st film. The first look poster of his latest film Radhe Shyam was revealed a few days before. Radhe Shyam reportedly set in Europe will have Prabhas in the role of a fortune teller.
Furthermore, Prabhas and Deepika starrer film is said to be a science-fiction. Shooting is expected to begin early next year.
