Future and Artificial Intelligence-

Three-year-old WeRide, backed by Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi, said in a statement that it started tests on Wednesday on open roads in a designated area of Guangzhou after the southern Chinese city granted permission.

There are several other company China such as Didi Chuxing, Baidu Inc and Toyota-backed Pony.ai try to build the autonomous vehicles and they also start on these projects.  They also were testing on autonomous cars. Though, they all have someone or two safety staff onboard. The people onboard take control in unexpected situations.

WeRide is 1st company who star testing fully autonomous cars. They said it will use the remote centre to take control of their vehicles if needed.

Before this, a  U.S autonomous vehicle company Alphabet Inc, Waymo also tested passenger vehicles without a safety driver.  A California based startup called Nuro also gets permission to test the driverless vehicles on a small scale.

A day before Tesla executive chief Elon  Musk also revealed that U.S electric vehicle inc. Tesla “very close” to level 5 autonomous driving technology.

Another autonomous company ‘Baidu’s’ executive head, Tony Han works on a fleet of near about 45 autonomous taxis and 60 test cars.

Other Autonomous technology such as Waymo, Uber Technologies also work on this. An industry insider said that it will take time for technology to get ready and gain trust by the user.
