2020 Billboard Music Awards Nominations Revealed

The Billboard Music Awards 2020 nominations were revealed on Tuesday, September 22 by the NBC.

Post Malone, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish are the dominating the artists this year.

Swift and Eilish have been nominated for the Top Artist award; alongside are the Jonas Brothers, Khalid, and Post Malone.

Post Malone, rapper, is nominated 16 times in 15 categories; followed by first-time nominees Lil Nas X with 13 and Eilish with 12.

Khali and Eilish have tied with 12 nominations this year.

Swift’s “Lover;” Khalid’s “Free Spirit;” Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” and Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next;” are the songs that are leading the Billboard Music Awards 2020 nominations; in the Top Billboard 200 Album category.

Eilish is also nominated for Top Billboard 200 Album for her “When We All Fall Asleep, Where We Go.”

DaBaby, Khalid, Lil Nas X, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran; are the top five male artists nominated for this year.

Ariana Grande will be the top female artist fighting for her second consecutive win. She will be competing against Taylor Swift, who in 2013, 2015 and 2018 won the award. If Taylor wins this year, she will bag the award for the fourth time. Other nominees are Billie Eilish, Halsey and Lizzo.

Moreover, the Billboard Music Awards 2020 will have three fan voted categories; namely,  the Billboard chart achievement award, top social artist and top collaboration.

Furthermore, the K-pop stars BTS also made it to the nominations in two categories; Top Duo/Group and Top Social Artist. BTS will be competing with Dan + Shay, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5 and Panic.

Kelly Clarkson will be hosting The Billboard Music Awards 2020. The same will be premiered on Wednesday, 14 October, at 8p.m. (ET); from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on NBC.

 

Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, this year, the chart period is going to undertake releases from March 23, 2019 through March 14, 2020. Earlier, the show was schedule for April 29,2020; however, it had to be postponed.
