Trump on immigration reforms

Trump favors merit based Immigration system! The Trump administration is working on H-1B visa, reforming and updating the same. As per these reforms, the H-1B visa will prioritize workers who are offered highest wage, making sure that only skilled workers are allowed to stay further, rather than the existing system which gives preference to family ties.

Officials said the plan would favour those immigrants who are exceptional students, those with “extraordinary talent” and people who work in professional and specialised vocations.

The applicants would receive points for age, English proficiency and offers of employment at a certain wage threshold in order to protect low-wage American workers, the official said.

The bill draws mixed reactions!

The American citizens stand by the president in his decision to preserve American jobs. Trump said that the bill is going to be a very big bill, very good bill, a merit-based bill that will include DACA. His decision also drew sharp criticism, where Senator Ted Cruz described the move as a mistake.

But the president has long said that he is willing to work with the congress on a negotiated legislative solution to DACA, if they are willing to contribute to this at all. And if not, he would then make this a part of the election.

However, democrats have continually declined these offers. They are opposed to anything other than totally open borders, the White house said in a statement.
