Man sentenced for stealing over 200 L.O.L dolls

For stealing more than 200 L.O.L dolls from Smyths Toys a 42-year old man is now sentenced for 16-months. In south Belfast in 2018 the incident took place. However the total worth of the L.O.L dolls is near about £2,796. Stephen Casement the thief is father of three.

Stephen Casement admitted the theft at Drumkeen Retail Park at a remote hearing of Downpatrick Crown Court, sitting in Belfast. Nearly half of the sentence will be in jail.

On the evening of 3 October 2018

on the evening of 3 October 2018 it was clearly recorded in the CCTV footage that a man entered the toy store and stole the L.O.L dolls. The man was no one other than Stephen Casement. Even he was accompanied by three others. in the footage Casement removed boxes of the dolls from the store and placed them in the boot. Also he entered the toy store three times in a five minute period on the evening of 3 October 2018.

Not only this but also accused for taking a jukebox, football T-shirt from Belfast shop. During the last few years Casement was charged with 18 theft cases.  An employee of the store recognized his from a Facebook page. After the stealing video went viral, Casement was arrested.

Courts View-

The accused was  already under a suspended sentence to which Judge Miller added an additional nine months sentence for breaching court orders. He said Casement’s behavior was linked to a drugs addiction.
