Akudama Drive an original anime it’s will appear on screens by the end of October. At least, that is the current belief with no specific release date available. At the moment, that appears to be the most common factor about the anime. Even the few synopsis available don’t provide too much information about the plot. However, it does provide the background and setting for the series, up to a point. Despite this lack of information is still possible to make guess on how the story will be set up. that is to say, each character has a class and the primary producer of the show is Too Kyo Games. This can also provide a glimpse as to the purpose of Akudama Drive.
Akudama Drive Plot :
Akudama Drive as a new original anime is one of the rare shows of this group that lacks source material. Unlike other notable animates which have a manga or light novel to draw on for inspiration. another notable example of an original anime that lacks such source material would be One Room. However, Akudama Drive falls into a completely different genre. This is made clear by both the artwork and the synopsis. The artwork and also the trailers show that the series is set in an advance technological society. The synopsis for Akudama Drive does not provide much detail on the store. Specifically, it describes a major conflict between two factions.
The side that lost the war began to decay in both government and police power. The last few sentences describe what appears to be the current status of the country. That is a state of near anarchy where crime has run rampant. It also describes the name of the criminals a.k.a. Akudama. it’s obvious that the synopsis is being deliberately cryptic order to avoid spoilers. However, the recently released trailer provide some more detail.
Specifically, it shows that at least some of the characters were hired to complete a criminal job. It also indicates a fierce conflict between criminals and the police. That being said, it still doesn’t indicate the exact plot for Akudama Drive. Several possibilities exist ranging from variations of The Transporter to a secret conflict between the criminals please for power. it’s also unclear exactly which characters the animate will be following or even if they are on the same team.
Akudama Drive Characters :
Akudama Drive has six main characters that appear to be the protagonist of the store. At least, they are the primary named one most of the promotional information. Each character has a title seems to reflect their purpose in the anime. Additionally, these titles do seem to support at least in part the possibility that this is a crime drama anime. Specifically, a crime drama with elements of dystopian future and dark science-fiction. the characters all have their own unique personalities some frightening and some terrifying as seen in the trailers.
The Doctor appears to fit the role scientist, who gets a thrill when holding a person’s life her hands. Hacker couldn’t care less about anything but the most challenging cyber security can find and beat. The Brawler is your stereotypical street fighter who only cares about fights even if it kills him. Hoodlum is a compulsive liar, coward and greedy individual who tries to act tough.
The Cutthroat appears to be a psychopath, perfectly calm almost innocent one moment then our joyful murderous rampage the next. The Ordinary girl appears to be exactly that, upbeat her only concerns our shopping and gossiping. Courier is cool and confident, you give him a job and he will get it done. the characters will definitely provide an interesting entertaining story. However, at the moment neither they nor the trailer provide much information on how the story will progress. Though it is apparent from the trailer that it will involve conflict with the local police. Another interesting fact is that the titles of the various characters could almost be mistaken for videogame classes.
Too Kyo Games
Akudama Drive is the first anime release from Too Kyo Games. The company which was founded in 2017 has been working on several projects. In addition to Akudama Drivethey are also working/releasing three video games including Death Come True. The Japanese company was founded by Kazutaka Kodaka who before founding this he worked on the Danganronpa series. He is also not the only member of the company with such experience. Indeed, the majority of the company’s management all come from other companies specializing in video games, anime, or both. The company stated goal is to create new animates and videogames. This explains some at least of the character design and series layout for Akudama Drive.
Possible Purpose of Akudama Drive :
Akudama Drive besides being minutes to entertain audiences to have additional purposes. First as mentioned by the series producer the anime is an original creation. In other words, the series is meant to allow the company staff to create their own story. While it is true that most stories have influences from their genre stereotypes the original idea for that is unique. That being said, there is another possibility for the purpose of Akudama Drive. Specifically, it could be a precursor to a videogame series. Given the nature of the company producing the anime this is a decent possibility. Also, the use of an animate advertise a video game is not unheard of.
Though to be fair, most anime is of that nature our shores no more than three episodes under 30 minutes. However, many series have been released as companions to video games. So perhaps, Akudama Drive is simply reversing the order of such things. Unfortunately, until the series release it’s nearly impossible to say the case. This means the series could be long or short on episodes. Akudama Drive even end up being a single movie. Regardless, it’s clear that a lot of effort and talent poured into the creation of a serious. Akudama Drive will definitely be an interesting and hopefully entertaining to watch when it releases in October.
