When you’re out and about, smartwatches help you stay connected and see essential information at a glance. With the Google Maps app for the Apple Watch, you can easily navigate by car, bike, public transit, or on-foot. You will be able to quickly get estimated arrival times and step-by-step directions to destinations you’ve saved you’ve designated in the app. For all other destinations, you can start navigating from your phone and pick up where you left off on your watch, Alan Rogers, Product Manager, Google Maps and Rubén Lozano-Aguilera Product Manager, Google Maps said in a blog post. Apart from the Apple Watch, Google has now made the Maps available to the Apple CarPlay Dashboard.
On a related note, Google had launched an interesting feature which allows users to follow each other on the app. This means that users will now have a separate profile page that will feature the pictures or a review of a place. Google has rolled out the feature for all users across the globe.
This will be helpful for many people who are a part of the Apple eco-system.
