  • SELA PASS

The Sela Pass is one of the most famous and most visited places of Tawang, owing to the mesmerizing views it has to offer. Located at a height of about 4000 metres, it boasts of a stunning natural beauty and its awe-inspiring landscapes and marvellous surroundings including the frozen Sela lake are a heart-catcher. Sela Pass is covered with a snow-sheet throughout the year, owing to its high altitude. It is also a religious site for the Buddhist population.

 

  • TAWANG MONASTERY

The Tawang monastery is the largest monastery in India and is considered to be one of the most holy sites for the Mahayana sect of Buddhism. It holds 17 gompas in the region and is home to a massive three hundred monks who reside in the monastery. The monastery is also renowned for its beautiful architecture of the 16th century and holds many pieces of art inside its enclosure. Besides this, the monastery also provides a serene view of the valley.

  • SHONGA-TSER LAKE

The Shonga-Tser lake is also famously known as the Madhuri Lake as a famous Bollywood song from the movie Koyala starring Madhuri Dixit was shot at the location.  The pristine and crystal clear lake water is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of serene hills and mountains providing a tranquil ambience to relax and rejuvenate at.

  • NURANANG FALLS

Located at a height of about 6000 ft. above sea level, the Nuranang falls originates at the Sela Pass and lies in the middle of untouched forests ensuring that one enjoys the walk and stop at nature’s lap to the best.

  • GORICHEN PEAK

The highest peak in Arunachal Pradesh, Gorichen peak is a must visit for the adventure and thrill seekers who can trek to it. It offers a splendid view of the valleys and is also believed to be a sacred peal which guards people against the evils.
