Elder Scrolls: 4 Oblivion

Ranked number one for games like Skyrim you should try, we find Elder Scrolls: 4 Oblivion and with an initial release date of March 20, 2006, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is an open-world action role-playing video game.

In an article published by Joyscribe on the topic, “Why is Elder Scrolls Oblivion Better than Skyrim?” The article states the following about the game in comparison to Skyrim:

Oblivion had, compared to Skyrim at least, a much more varied and interesting quest line-up. More backstories, objectives, and just sheer personality – that makes it appealing to genre-fans that like to get as immersed in a game world as possible.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War

Ranked number two in games like Skyrim having an initial release date of September 27, 2017, Middle Earth: Shadow of War was developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is an action role-playing video game.

On Amazon the game is described as follows:

Customer reviews on Amazon give it an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars and some customers such as amazingspiderman had the following review about the game:

Great game with little complaints

Awesome game for fans of Lord of the Rings or for action RPG games. The game has plenty of content and will keep you busy for hours in a good way. The only gripe I have is the unskippable orc cutscenes that play every minute when facing multiple captains.

“These scenes are very similar to the first game and should have been skippable in this game especially since some of them can be frustratingly long in a game that’s supposed to be fast action paced. The story is not as strong as the first but is still entertaining none the less. There is also plenty of side and Fortress quests that will make this game entertaining for a long time.”

The loot box economy is not game-breaking at all. I spent $0 in the game and still feel satisfied with the economy. You can earn plenty of in game money to purchase loot boxes and still be successful. If anything it just takes a little longer to progress and/or to buy good quality Orcs but that is all fine in a game that is fun to play regardless. A must-have game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Ranked number 3 in games like Skyrim with an Initial release date: November 18, 2014, Dragon Age: Inquisition developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It is an action role-playing video game.

On Metacritic, the game has received 43 total reviews with 42 of the 43 providing a “positive rating” with only 1 of the 43 giving it a “mixed review.”

Matt S. Editor in chief wrote about his experience and opinion on Metacritic and had this to say, “BioWare achieved everything that it needed to with Dragon Age: Inquisition. It revitalised a series that had suffered real brand damage in Dragon Age II, and the third game in its fantasy trilogy easily stands as the best RPG we’ve seen in years. There is absolutely no reason to miss out on this one.”

Guild Wars 2

Ranked number 4 for games like Skyrim with an initial release date: August 28, 2012, Guild wars 2 was developed by ArenaNet and published by NCSoft and ArenaNet. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

ArenaNet’s website asserts the following, “At ArenaNet, we’ve always believed that games are art. They have the power to communicate ideas and tell stories. They can change the way we think, reflect our cultures, and move us.”

Some reviews can be found and read by customers such as Molly Modrzynski who writes:

“I’ve played my fair share of mmo’s over the years, but GW2 is by far the best. While it might be a bit directionless for new players, it is without a doubt, the best game I’ve played. The combat is smooth and easy to learn, hard to master as you lvl up and gain elite specs.”

“With one payment at the end of the core game, you can gain two expansions with so much content that gets updated. Amazing! This game is beautiful and rich with lore, and it stunning with different races other than the normal human. And environments, you can play in really sets this game above the others.”

Karl Croll from Houston tells Aware News that he has played the video game Guild wars 2 and says,

It was okay, it seemed to lack enough depth at the end game, but that was at launch, there have been a few expansions since then so that has probably changed.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Ranked number 5 for games like Skyrim with an Initial release date: May 19, 2015. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was developed and published by Polish developer CD Projekt. It is a 2015 action role-playing game also based on fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski.

On Steam customers such as Bsukaix writes about their experience with the game by recommending it to others by saying the following:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a very extensive game. There is a wide variety of content and forms of play within the game that will surely make the player play hundreds of hours. Its epic storytelling with a variety of interesting characters. This game is the best ARPG game ever launched. Personally I think with more than 100 hours of mission content on offer, it’s a game that will be played for weeks. The money paid to buy it feels worth it. In fact, I strongly recommend that you take your time and play this game slowly and enjoy all the content and world in the game. This is because every content in this game is very detailed and well developed by CD PROJECT RED.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

Ranked number 6 with an Initial release date: April 23, 2013. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen was designed by: Kento Kinoshita
And developed by: Capcom. It is Action role-playing game.

According to Gog.com the game is where, “Players embark on an epic adventure in a rich, living world with three AI companions, known as Pawns. These partners fight independently, demonstrating prowess and ability that they have developed based on traits learned from each player. Players can share these Pawns online and reap rewards of treasure, tips and strategy hints for taking down the terrifying enemies.”

Some customer reviews can be read such as Millcore who gave the game a 5 star rating and had the following to say about their experience.

“A more lighthearted Dark Souls”

“If you let it, this game will keep you up all night. The enemies will not level with you, this makes some areas of the game virtually inaccessible from the onset of the game. That being said, you shouldn’t need any grinding if you walk to everywhere you need to go, rather than use ferrystones to fast travel, and explore the world. There’s a large area on the bottom left part of the map that the main story won’t lead you to and as I recall only one side quest has you travel through. If you like games where exploration is encouraged but not forced then you’ll love this world. Here’s wishing you luck for now, and countless lifetimes come to pass.”

According to Games Radar on an article entitled, “THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD REVIEW:

It lists the following Pros vs. cons on this game which are as follows:
