Hayabusa 2 to land on earth :
Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa 2 is coming back to earth with an asteroid’s surface samples. Hayabusa 2 to land on earth this December. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will achieve a milestone in space research if this sample will deliver safely. Hayabusa 2 will be back to its mission after delivering a sample capsule.
Hayabusa 2 is the first spacecraft especially design for the purpose of landing on an asteroid.
When Hayabusa 2 left earth :
Hayabusa 2 left earth on 3 December 2014. And it arrived at an asteroid called Ryugu in 2018. This space bot is orbiting this asteroid for more than a year. Having Mission to collect soil samples. After many attempts and trials, this probe has finally touched the Ryugu asteroid’s surface in February 2019. And Hayabusa 2 to land on earth after 1 year 4 months. After surveying a near-earth asteroid.
The mission of Hayabusa 2 :
Hayabusa 2 was launched back in 2014 with the sole mission to collect different soil samples from asteroids. Scientists always wanted to research the origin of the earth. A sample from different space bodies will give scientists a clear idea about this. Space researchers from all over the world are eagerly waiting for Hayabusa 2 sample capsules.
Why space researcher chose Asteroid Ryugu?
As space researchers want to study more about earth origin with collected samples. As a result, They chose the nearest earth asteroid for this purpose. Ryugu is considered as both C-type and B- type asteroid. Therefore they considered Ryugu.
Where Hayabusa 2 is landing:
After traveling almost 3 billion miles this spacecraft is landing in the desert of woomera, southern Australia. On 6 December 2020 precisely. Hayabusa 2 will return to space after delivering the sample capsule to scientists.
Number of Touchdowns:
Hayabusa 2 completed 2 touchdowns. First in February 2019 and second in July 2019 respectively. Hence, JAXA released the clip of its touchdowns
HIGHLIGHTS :
- Hayabusa 2 to land on earth on 6 December 2020.
- Hayabusa 2 traveled almost 3 billion miles.
- Because of this mission, it will be easier for scientists to study the components of the earth and its origins.
- Soil sample of Ryugu asteroid will be delivered by Hayabusa 2
- It will be landing in the desert of woomera, southern Australia.
