The 43rd Annual General Meet of Reliance took place today, and the Chairman and Managing Director of RIL, Mr. Mukesh Ambani made the announcement of JIO5G coming to India. He clarified that Reliance Jio has begun designing and developing 5G connectivity solution from scratch.

Mr. Mukesh explained that the technologies, software, and service support did not rely on outside sources. And that they are developing it within the country. In other words, the 5G connectivity is home developed. Trails are already underway and can be carried out as soon as the spectrum is available. Regardless, it is expected to be on the field next year. He explained in length about the digital business and the company’s plan to turn the digital experiences more customer-friendly. Chairman furthermore gave an insight into the growth of JioFiber, Jio’s enterprise broadband, broadband for SMEs, Mobile broadband, and Jio’s Narrowband Internet-of-Things (NBIoT).
He called it a Made in India Solution dedicating it to PM Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Mr. Mukesh also assured that customers already with 4G network will be able to upgrade to 5G without hassles. He additionally said that once it was successfully established in India, Reliance plan to export and expand it globally as a complete managed service.
In addition to Qualcomm, Facebook, and Intel among many others to invest in Jio, Reliance succeeded in getting an investment from Google that was announced after the meeting. Besides, Google and Jio are also partnering to build an Android-based smartphone operating system as per the updates.
