John Abraham’s ‘Satyamaeva Jayate 2′ is all set to go on floors in the coming September. The film was supposed to start shooting in April but the sudden outbreak of pandemic resulted in a postponement of schedules. The film was officially announced on 27 September 2018. Director Milap Zaveri took this time to polish the script. Some changes were made and the team finally decided to shoot it in Lucknow rather than Mumbai as mentioned earlier. ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ is an action-packed cop drama.
Madhu Bhojani, who is producing the film along with Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Adwani says, “We had earlier conceived it as a film that could have been shot in Mumbai. But as the story developed, we (realized) it lends itself beautifully to Lucknow. It was a creative decision.”
Director Milap Zaveri described before, “The first film dealt with corruption, but with Part 2, corruption in all spheres—from the police to politicians, industrialists, the common man—will be tackled. It is situational, in the Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore zone.”
This is a sequel to 2018 hit drama Satyameva Jayate, which also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Aisha Sharma, and Amruta Khanvilkar. Satyameva Jayate 2 will feature Divya Khosla Kumar as the lead actress opposite John. The film marks her comeback to acting after a gap of several years. T series and Emmay entertainment together produce the film. AA Films and Eros International together distribute the film.
John Abraham was last seen in Raj Kishore’s Pagalpanti. Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga and Lakshya Raj Anand’s Attack are his upcoming films.
