Law students promotion 2020: COVID -19 surely creating a mess for everyone. For prevention and protection. The Government of India decided to announce nationwide lockdown. Well, keeping aside the economy of India and taking such a crucial step. This was a mandatory step to fight against COVID- 19. Schools, colleges, universities were closed from Janta curfew 22nd March.
After this 21 days, the lockdown was announced nationwide. Meanwhile, this time was utilised to gather the equipment needed for fighting COVID-19. This step leads running economy as the stopped economy. Therefore, all over India students are confused regarding their exams. Entrance exams were postponed. Till now the dates are not announced. Students in graduation are also checked notifications about exam dates.
Announcement for Law Students
The Bar Council of India decided to promote all the law students to the next year. The examination is cancelled. The students will get promotion based on previous year marks. Hence, they can also give marks according to internal assessments. The final year students are required to present themselves. They will not be promoted without examination.
When the colleges and universities will reopen. The end semester examination for the previous year may be conducted. Therefore, the announcement and decision have been made. So, students are asked to be prepared for next year or semester. They will study the material for the promoted year.
Some guidelines are given by the Bar Council of India
First and foremost, only 3 and 5 years final year student of LLB course allowed to give the examination.
Second, the universities have given a chance to adopt any other method. A method like research/project/report to check the capability and ability of students. This is for final year students.
Third, in the case of Final Year LL.B students, who have not cleared all papers of previous years. They are required to sit in the supplementary examination.
Fourth, except the final year LLB students. All the other students will be promoted to next year. Moreover, this promotion is based on performance and internal marks of the current year.
Fifth, universities must take care of the safety and health of the students. During this pandemic, this is very risky to take the examination.
Sixth, universities are instructed to maintain the highest academic standards while conducting the examinations.

“Universities must adhere to Covid-19 protocol and ensure that the norm of social distancing is followed in the campus and all classrooms and examination halls are properly sanitized from time to time. The safety and health of the students should not be compromised at any cost.” This is mentioned in the Bar Council of India official notification.
