Famous Hollywood personality, Naya Rivera reportedly went missing on a boat trip last day. On the boat at Lake Piru, in Los Padres National Forest, her son was alone. It was late Wednesday afternoon. Lake Piru is located in Ventura County, California, over 50 miles north of Los Angeles.
Details of the Incident
Rivera rented a pontoon boat with her four-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, at around 1 p.m. About three hours after they set off, another boater reportedly spotted the boat with her son asleep on board. He had his life vest on but an adult life vest was on the boat. Authorities on notification immediately dispatched search and rescue crews including divers and helicopters scanning the lake from above.

Rivera began her acting career when she was 4, on the CBS sitcom “The Royal Family.” She rose to fame for her role as Santana Lopez on the TV series Glee in 2009. Also, she signed with Columbia Records in 2011 as a solo artist and released a single, “Sorry” in 2013. Rivera made her feature film debut as Vera in 2014 in the horror film At the Devil’s Door. In 2016, she published a memoir with Tarcher Perigree named Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up. Actor Ryan Dorsey and Rivera married in 2014. Their son Josey Hollis Dorsey was born in September 2015. However, the couple divorced in 2018. And, they had joint custody of the boy.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Department updated about terminated search on Wednesday night. This was due to darkness and safety concerns of rescuers. She is presumed to be drowned. The search continues today with additional divers and sonar equipment.
