Pokémon Snap : Coming Soon on Nintendo Switch

The classic Nintendo 64 game where players simply capture photos of pocket monsters is soon getting its sequel with the name: New Pokémon Snap coming only for the Nintendo Switch™ system, the Pokémon Company revealed in a Wednesday Live Stream, with Switch being in such high demand during the pandemic, it is right that they bring back the iconic game.

Though, the company didn’t give a release date for the game, so that could be a while away yet.


Release on Nintendo Switch

The company said in a release that the upcoming game will take the gamers to the jungles and beaches of Pokémon filled islands, where they can research the critters “in their natural habitats”. The gamers will take photos to make their very own in-game Pokémon Photodex while discovering, new as well as never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and their behaviors. Thus, it is expected several new Pokémon creatures will be included in this new edition. The company has not revealed any official dates for the launch of the game.

In the original Pokémon Snap game which was released in 1999 we saw the following 63 species Pokémon’s and now going to release on Nintendo Switch:

So, it can be said that its sequel will surely have all these 63 characters along with more Pokémon creatures.


Along with the new Pokémon Snap game, the company, also revealed tooth-brushing app Pokémon Smile, along with free-to-start puzzler Pokémon.

The Nintendo Switch is a video gaming console developed by Nintendo which was officially released in 2017.
