RRB Exam 2021: Notification, Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria and application Process

RRB Exam 2021: Indian Railway is a sector that a large bunch of people looks up to for recruitment. Besides, the Railways of India offer handsome salary packages for various posts. Also, annually it recruits people in a varied number of posts. Vacancies of Clerks, timekeepers, traffic assistants, etc comes out every year. RRB recruitment is one of the most consistent in India. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release a notification of the recruitment process soon. All the procedures will happen in Online mode. Various NTPC positions will be available. Important Dates:

  • Starting of Registration: Week 1, March 2021
  • End of Registration: Week 2, 2021
  • Last date of submitting Fee: Week 3, April 2021
  • End of Form Submission: Week 4/5 of April 2021
  • End of Post Preference: Week 4/5 of April 2021
  • Release of Admit Card: Week 3, May 2021
  • Commencement of RRB Exam: September 2021

Application Fee for RRB Exam 2021:

  • For the General applicants, the application fee is Rs. 500/-
  • Also, the OBC candidates should pay an application fee of Rs. 500/-
  • However, the ST/PWD and SC candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 250/-

Payment Mode:

The payment should be via any one of the payment modes:

  • Credit Card
  • Net Banking
  • Debit Card
  • SBI E-Challan or
  • Post office Challan

Criteria of Eligibility in RRB Exam 2021:

The candidates must lookup for the criteria of eligibility before filling up the form. Also, they should have the documents to prove all the credentials right. The age limit, educational qualification are important criteria. On the other hand, the nationality of the candidates is also crucial for recruitment.

Age Limit:

  • For appearing in the RRB Exam 2021, the age of the aspirants should be a minimum of 18 years.
  • On the other hand, the maximum age of the aspirants should be 33 years to appear for the RRB Exam 2021.

Age Relaxation:

The age relaxation for RRB Exam 2021 is as per the caste and disabilities.

  • For the General candidates, there will be no relaxation of age.
  • However, for the OBC candidates, the relaxation of age is 3 years.
  • On the other, there is an age relaxation of 5 years of the ST and SC candidates.
  • For the PWD applicants, the relaxation of age is 10 years.

Educational Qualification:

  • For some posts, the minimum qualification is 10th standard pass.
  • On the other hand, for some others, the minimum qualification is 12th standard pass.
  • However, for some, the minimum qualification will be graduation.

NOTE: The necessary qualifications for different positions of the RRB Exam 2021 will be out as soon as there is a notification. Also, the candidates may even have a degree or qualification equivalent to that 10th pass/ 12th pass/ graduate. But, the degree should be from a recognized institute.

Nationality:

Not every person can appear for the RRB Exam 2021. Nationality is an important criterion for selection.

  • All the Indian citizens adhering to the other criterion can appear for the Railway Board exam.
  • Nepal and Bhutan citizens can also appear provided they adhere to the other eligibility criteria.
  • The refugees who are here in India from or before 1st January 1962 can appear for the exam. But, they should be willing to be in India and settle permanently.
  • Besides, the migrants of Pakistan, Uganda, Zaire, Burma, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Vietnam can appear for RRB Exam. Provided, the migrants are willing to settle in India.

Application Process of RRB Exam 2021:

The Application form will be available in the Official Website of RRB in March 2021.

  • The applicants should register for the RRB Exam 2021 before the process ends in week 2 of March 2021.
  • The applicant has to fill the credentials according to the documents available to them.
  • Also, the candidate should have scanned copies of a passport size photograph and their signature. However, the files should be in the JPEG Format.
  • After filling up the form, pay the application fee by proceeding with the format.
  • Re-check the details before finally submitting the form.
  • Print the form after submitting it to keep proof of the details.

Process of Selection in RRB Recruitment 2021:

The recruitment will happen in 4 stages:

  • The first round will be a Computer Based Test (CBT I).
  • The second round will also be a Computer Based Test (CBT II).
  • On the other hand, the third round will be a Typing Skill Test. But, for some posts, there will be a Computer Based Aptitude Test in place of a typing test.
  • In the fourth round, there will be a medical examination as well as document verification.

The Pattern of RRB Exam 2021 (NTPC):

CBT I:

The total marks of CBT I is 100. Besides, there will be a total of 100 questions. Each question will have 1 mark. The duration of the RRB Exam will be 90 minutes/ 1 hour 30 minutes. There are 3 subjects in the CBT I round:

  • Mathematics: There will be 30 questions on this subject. Also, the marks will be 1 for each right answer. That equals 30 marks in total in Mathematics.
  • Reasoning: There will be 30 questions in reasoning. Besides, the marks will be 1 for each right answer. That equals to 30 marks in total in reasoning.
  • General Awareness: This segment has 40 marks in total. There will be 40 questions from General  Awareness. i.e. each question will fetch a candidate 1 mark when the answer is right.

NOTE: There will be negative marking in the exam. 1/3rd of the marks of each question will be cut if the answer is incorrect.

CBT II:

The total marks of CBT II are 120. Besides, there will be a total of 120 questions. Each question will have 1 mark. The duration of the RRB Exam will be 90 minutes/ 1 hour 30 minutes. There are 3 subjects in the CBT II round:

  • Mathematics: There will be 35 questions on this subject. Also, the marks will be 1 for each right answer. That equals 35 marks in total in Mathematics.
  • Reasoning: There will be 35 questions in reasoning. Besides, the marks will be 1 for each right answer. That equals to 35 marks in total in reasoning.
  • General Awareness: This segment has 50 marks in total. There will be 50 questions from General  Awareness. i.e. each question will fetch a candidate 1 mark when the answer is right.

NOTE: There will be negative marking in the exam. 1/3rd of the marks of each question will be cut if the answer is incorrect.

Syllabus of RRB Exam 2021:

The syllabus of CBT I and CBT II is the same. Although, the difficulty level may vary.

  • Mathematics: The topics like decimals, HCF, LCM, percentage, Mensuration are present in the syllabus. Besides, time and Distance, Interest, Trignometry are present. Also, it is inclusive of Number System, Profit & Loss, Algebra, etc.
  • Reasoning: The syllabus of Reasoning in RRB Exam includes both Verbal and Non- Verbal Reasoning topics. Topics like Puzzles, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism, Analogies are present in the syllabus.
  • General Awareness: Current affairs in the field of Sports, Culture, Economics, Science & Technology are important in this part.
