Verdict: 3.5 out of 5. The Last Temptation of Becky is the rare threequel that understands its assignment completely: take the angriest teenager in modern genre cinema, give her a CIA badge, send her undercover into a Nazi stronghold, and let her do what she does best. It is bloody, silly, furious, and enormous fun — and, by most early accounts, the best film in the trilogy. It opens in theatres today, November 4, 2026.
Directed by Jenn Wexler, the third Becky film picks up after 2023’s The Wrath of Becky, in which a teenage Becky was recruited by the CIA. She is no longer a little girl defending her home. She is now the agency’s most notorious problem child, and her latest mission takes her to Poland, to an inn beside the Wolf’s Lair, one of Hitler’s real Second World War bunkers.

What The Last Temptation of Becky is about
Becky Hooper (Lulu Wilson) is working for the CIA, and it is not going smoothly. No matter the training or planning, Becky takes the messiest route to every objective, collateral damage included, and her superiors are losing patience.
The family is the trap. Wilhelm Reuss (Neil Patrick Harris), an American expatriate, uses the inn as cover while working to revive the Third Reich, aided by a Nazi doctor played by James Urbaniak. Tying the trilogy together is the mysterious golden key from the original Becky — now in Reuss’s hands and central to his plan. Becky’s cover is blown, backup is not coming, and what follows is war between one very angry young woman and an entire Fourth Reich operation.
What works: Wilson, Harris, and a director who gets it
Lulu Wilson is Becky, and that has been true since she first played the character as a child. She understands this rage-fuelled, damaged heroine from the inside, and Wexler gives her room to be funny, frightening, and sympathetic in the same scene.
Neil Patrick Harris is the film’s secret weapon. Following the franchise’s tradition of casting actors known mainly for comedy as ruthless extremist villains — Kevin James in the first film, Seann William Scott in the second — Harris plays Reuss without winking at the camera, and reviewers have singled him out as genuinely menacing. Kate Siegel, returning as the exasperated handler Montana, gets more to do this time.
What doesn’t: the third act goes too far, and not every joke lands
Not every review is a rave, and the film’s weaknesses are consistent across the cooler notices. The A.V. Club found it a diminished return on the franchise’s formula, and other reviewers noted that the third act takes a wild supernatural swing that the film never quite earns, alongside some noticeable budget limitations. If the sight of a teenager killing extremists in gruesomely inventive ways is not your idea of entertainment, this series was never for you.
The early Rotten Tomatoes picture deserves a note of caution too. A 100% score from 16 reviews, as reported on November 3, is a small early sample, and the mixed notices already published suggest it will not stay perfect for long.
Where it sits in the Becky trilogy
The first Becky (2020) was a straight home-invasion thriller. The Wrath of Becky (2023) leaned into comedy and ended with its teenage heroine becoming a CIA agent. The Last Temptation of Becky finally pays that setup off, turning the series into a full spy movie — albeit one where the spy solves most problems by killing everyone in the room. It closes the loop on the golden key that has haunted Becky since the beginning.
Should you watch The Last Temptation of Becky?
Yes, if you enjoyed the first two films or you like your action horror loud, bloody, and unapologetic. At a lean 89 minutes, it does not waste a moment, and Wilson and Harris are a pairing worth the ticket price alone. Newcomers can follow the plot, but the film lands hardest if you have seen Becky’s journey from the start.
