WTC 2023 Final qualification scenario

India has to win one more test to qualify for the final. The next test is in Ahmedabad, and it is going to start  on March 9 2023.And final of WTC is going to be on 7 June this year.

The WTC final will be held at The Oval. Australia is the first team to qualify for the final. After the recent test match victory,  the team has got the top spot with 69.0 PCT.

Australia is the first confirmed team to qualify for the final. They are now waiting to see who qualifies next.

As the Aussies will still be in the top place if they lose their last test in India. The Aussies will even have a PCT of 65.0.This will still make hold at the top of the table.

If the series ends on 2-2

Now, the fourth test match will give a better idea who can be the next team.As if  Aussies, under the leadership of Steve Smith, win the last test against India and the series goes on 2-2.

Then Sri Lanka will have a better opportunity as they can also qualify for the final and join Australia. But the Lankan lions need to put heavy efforts ahead.

As they will have to beat  New Zealand in their home conditions. And Sri Lanka needs to get a 2-0 series victory. If they win the series, but get  either 1-0 or 1-1 results. This will still not be enough.

If the series ends on 2-1

If the last test against Australia gets a draw result, then India’s PCT will be 59.0.Under the condition,India will have to expect that Sri Lanka fails to whitewash the Kiwis. As Sri Lanka can’t qualify if they get any other result except  a margin of 2-0.

If the series ends on 3-1

However, if  India gets victory in the last test, then they will be the last team to qualify for the World Test Championship finals.

And the Indian team  will look forward to maximizing the opportunity. As they want to get the final by defeating the Aussie, making themselves “ATMA NIRBHAR”.
