The series 13 reasons why revolves around a seventeen-year-old high school student ,Clay Jensen and his deceased friend Hannah Baker, who takes her own life after having to face a culture of gossip, bullying and sexual assault at her high school and a lack of support from her friends, her family and her school. A box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah in the weeks preceding her suicide detail why she chose to end her life. I was shocked when I first heard the story. The series was still new when I watched it and not a lot of people liked the story or synopsis as it was about a girl who committed suicide.

I would like to explain my opinion on the series, season by season.
Everyone has their problems or inner demons to deal with. High school just doesn’t help kids… yes we get education from there, which is essential for our careers and life. But how can a person keep on living, when the people around them don’t let them live in peace.
Hannah Baker did what she did because she couldn’t hold on any longer.
She didn’t go just like that, she left evidences behind, she left tapes which she recorded. Tapes stating the 13 reasons why she did what she did.
Hannah Baker committed suicide in a very painful way, which was her way of showing how much pain she was going through everyday.
Hannah Baker was cheated on, molested, harassed, humiliated, stalked, even raped. She even saw and experienced stuff she shouldn’t have. Yes, she wasn’t perfect, she made mistakes too. But no one deserves to go through that much and expect to just hold on.
It’s not like she didn’t try to get help or ask for help. She turned to her school’s counsellor and he didn’t help her either, she told him that she was raped and all he could about was his school’s dignity and how she should just talk to her parents and sort it out.
It was a mess for her and she couldn’t hold on anymore. But Hannah Baker was not the only victim in this show. Every person is evil and a victim combined. The first season of this series was the most realistic and addictive one. It showed the truth behind all the strawberry things. It displayed the dominance of athletes towards the commoners and each detail has been described precisely.
This season was how the people who knew Hannah Baker closely, helped her get justice while fighting their own battles.
Jessica Davis was raped too. And it was not only her.
Bryce Walker raped a lot of girls and walked like a free man. He had no remorse of what he did, no guilt, he enjoyed it.
Clay Jensen, Jessica Davis, Justin, Tyler, Zach Dempsey, Alex, everyone involved, everyone who had their names in the tapes recorded by Hannah Baker were summoned to testify in the court.
The whole season revolved around how Hannah Baker got justice and how the other characters/victims got on with their lives while still struggling a life without Hannah, especially Clay Jensen, who was in love with Hannah Baker and Hannah Baker was in love with him too, but fate..
Season 2 basically displayed the trials and what a girl hoes through during such cruel acts. It also displayed some emotions of the rape victims and their side of the story.
As I mentioned before, everyone has their own battles to fight. Some people lose their battles, some succeed.
Bryce Walker was murdered. Yes, the rapist. That’s what his name became after the testimonies and the results.
He was guilty after he thought about what he did, why he did, Everything he did.
This season was revolved around finding who killed Bryce walker. Everyone hated him, loathed him, were scared of him. But after all he was still just a teenager who was never taught what’s right and what’s wrong.
Maybe he deserved to die, maybe he didn’t. Everyone has different opinions. Maybe he didn’t deserve to die after he felt remorse and started repaying his sins by being left alone or abandoned by those people he loved.
But at the end. The main characters blamed it on Montgomery…. And he died in the prison cell. The third season moved a bit towards entertainment purposes and a little less real. Basically it became a murder mystery.
The reality was Alex killed him. Jessica was there too.
As I said, everyone has been evil and a victim at the some points of their life, some people try to get their life back on track while some people fall down deep in the whole of darkness.
Readers have claimed that the first season was the most addictive one and the quality of the show deteriorated with the increase in the seasons.
In August 2019, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season which is set to premiere on June 5, 2020.
