2020 ACM Awards winners | Who Won this year

ACM award is also known as The Academy of Country Music Awards. In 1966, the first ACM Awards happened. The purpose of this event is to honour the music pieces and songs of the previous year. The 2020 ACM Awards happened on September 17th. It is the first award program for the country music in the United States of America. Therefore, ACM Awards is vital to the music industry.

In 2020 ACM Awards, Keith Urban was the host. The Grand Ole Opry House was the venue of the event. It is the weekly music stage for concerts in Nashville. This year the audience was almost empty considering the COVID-19 pandemic. Although that did not affect the spirit of the show. Singers like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Tim McGraw performed. Taylor Swift sang “Betty”, which her fans can consider it to be the best song from her latest album “Folklore.”.

Moreover, Old Dominion won the award for the group of the year. Old Dominion is a five-member band, that formed in 2007. They also got the award for “One Man Band” as the song of the year. There was a tweet by the official tweeter handle thanking the ACM awards. Luke Combs won album of the year for “What You See Is What You Get.”. Luke Combs is a 30-year-old, American country singer and songwriter.

Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett

Finally, Entertainer of the year is the most important award of ACM. In 2020 ACM Awards, Entertainer of the year was awarded to  Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett. It was a tie between the two singers. Apart from being a singer and a songwriter, Carrie Underwood is also an actress. She became famous after she earned the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Thomas Rhett is a 30-year-old singer American singer. His best songs are “Marry Me” and “Die a Happy Man” because it was on top of the charts in 2017.
