Director Remi Weekes His House is coming to Netflix in October itself and the trailer gives us some serious chills. Is Home no longer your safe place? His house will make it seem more like hell. Netflix the streaming had picked up his house even before its Sundance premiere.
Since Netflix released His House Trailer, it looks like a promising movie. The plot is about a young couple fleeing from War-torn Sudan and they are looking for a refuge in the UK. A shabby council estate in the U.K houses them but only temporarily. The couple has to follow some rules and regulations to the t if they want to continue staying in the house. Sounds easy right. But the kicker comes when they realize that something sinister is lurking inside their refuge. And that evil will not only not let them stay in the house but also disturb their standing with the government.
Deeper Insight
When Netflix released His House Trailer we got a hint at deeper insight. Are you thinking its a simple horror movie? But this is not your everyday horror movie. It has a deeper meaning. The director is trying to hint at a bigger problem.
In typical horror movies, the protagonist can save themselves by leaving the house or calling for help. But what can they do in this situation? They only have this roof over their heads and nowhere else to go. And they cannot afford to disturb their standing with the U.K government. They are literally between the proverbial the hard place and the Rock.
They have to stick it out and deal with the evil if they want to stay in the U.K. And this is a reality, well not the evil but the way migrants and immigrants are made to deal with thousand rules and regulations. They are expected to follow all the rules if they want to keep staying in the council estate. And often the estates are in bad condition. They have it tough but they can’t go anywhere as they have no place to go.
