All the university is in the midst of the dilemma regarding the conduction of exam. Aligarh Muslim University is also stuck. University is not able to conduct its AMU entrance exam for freshers 2020. Undergraduate and postgraduate AMU Exams are also on hold.
AMU Final Year Undergraduate/Postgraduate Exams Updates
In the midst of the coronavirus lockdown, various universities are unable to conduct exams for their students. Aligarh Muslim University also tried to follow the footsteps of DU. University is considering options for the modes of examination for Final year students. Online as well as Open Book Exam (OBE) modes are the preferable options for the examination. While for the time being, examinations are on hold. Further, decisions will release according to the situation of the pandemic.
After committee meeting discussions, the Aligarh Muslim University has decided to conduct some alternate form of exams for the final year students. Earlier the University postponed the exams to July 1 due to pandemic. On May 30, the controller of exams issued this response to the deans and heads of Departments of AMU. Despite all this, the committee confirms a green light for the alternate mode of exams after a meeting on Sunday.
The meeting adds to the note that this decision is in view of the coronavirus pandemic affecting various areas. Also, this will come into practice when the situation is not in control. However, this is only a statement and the final decision will be taken only after considering and analysing the present situation. University will inform the final year students at least 20 days beforehand. The university informs the students to not to travel to university premises until further orders.
AMU Final year take on the decision
Though this decision is a better alternative, it is receiving various protests and oppositions from students and teachers. Delhi University already faces this scenario. The protest pledges the reasons for having improper facilities and a lack of adequate tools for the exam.
Lack of infrastructure and management capability is the main concern for the students. Assessment will not be done properly. Unfair means used in the examination can make the exam process messed up. Various arguments are rising among the students regarding the uncertainty of the exam process.
AMU Entrance Exam
Aligarh Muslim University Entrance Exam is the entrance test for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. AMU conducts two types of entrance tests to offer admission to candidates in different courses:
- University level Admission Test
- Respective departments departmental Test
The entrance exam is in pen-paper based test mode for all courses. The candidates qualifying the entrance exam as well as fulfiling the eligibility criteria will be offered final admission.
AMU Entrance Exam Updates
COVID 19 outbreak leads to the postponement of AMU Entrance Exam. AMU has postponed the exam dates of entrance exams to be held in April month due to Coronavirus outbreak in India. The other exam’s schedule will reach via the notification by the university.
The AMU admission test will now be held in the month of July or early August. The admit card of AMU admissions will be released one or two weeks before the departmental/entrance test of each programme. The university opened the application correction window of AMU admission 2020 from March 10 to 14, 2020 for registered candidates to make changes in their entries.
The application window of AMU closes on March 7. For AMU 2020 admission to PG programmes, the university will conduct a departmental test, whereas for admissions in UG courses an entrance examination based on different programmes will be held. Aligarh Muslim University has opened the online facility to change the AMU 2020 admission test centres for UG programmes on May 23. Candidates who wish to change their centres can log in using their user ID and password and make the changes until June 3.
AMU Entrance Exam admit card
Candidates who have filled and submit the application form can download the admit card of AMU 2020 from one or two weeks before their respective admission test. Candidates can download the AMU 2020 hall ticket in online mode from the official website of AMU Controller of Exams. AMU admit card 2020 contains the details like the exam centres, examination, date and time of the exam, exam day instructions, etc. Keep a printout of the admit card in hand during the admission process.
