We’re still waiting on info regarding the film Black Panther 2. The main actor, the late Chadwick Boseman, has yet to be replaced publicly for the films. In July of 2021, Black Panther 2 will begin filming to bring a sequel to the movie that stormed Marvel fans’ hearts back in 2018. As of now, there’s still no replacement actor to backup the talents of Chadwick Boseman. The talented actor who stole fans’ hearts back in his earlier film passed away after a long battle with colon cancer earlier this year.

Tenoch Huerta, an actor well known for playing the role of Narcos. They might be playing as one of the film’s villains, but there is no information confirmed about this. Black Panther as a movie series boasts of its mostly African American cast, including many strong female characters who take the lead. The villains of the series– Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue and Michael B Jordan’s Killmonger– were very well received by fans of Marvel. The performance of the movie, in general, was praised by audiences everywhere.
Will there be a Black Panther 2?
The film was initially directed by Ryan Coogler. It became a critically acclaimed hit making a bank of 1.3 billion dollars. Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker also made grandiose appearances in the film. Among the actors expected to return would be: Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett.
A Black Panther 3 of all things, has been expected to make an appearance. They planned a Black Panther 3, along with the more closely associated Black Panther 2, were planned before the passing of Chadwick Boseman.
Before these movies were even a thought, Chadwick joined the Marvel cinematic universe as TChalla for Captain America: Civil War. Fans got excited after this debut, especially when he was scheduled to make a return shortly after in Black Panther. He quickly established himself as an iconic star in the MCU between this, and two other Avengers films he became involved in.
The death of Boseman shocked fans everywhere, as they and he were quite ill-prepared for it. He had secretly battled colon cancer in the last four years of his life and believed himself that he would beat it and continue acting. While thousands still are processing the loss of this talent in the MCU, the MCU crew still plans to use him for the second, and even third movie. The loss of such a cultural figure will impact the audience for years to come, and that alone may be what is driving the movies to such a determined production now more than ever.
Will there be a Black Panther 3?
It has been confirmed recently that TChalla will not be recast. Before Chadwick’s passing, Marvel already debated about a Black Panther 3. Personal stories published by the family of Boseman declared that there was negotiations concerning pay. There was a nearly 10 million dollar payday in store for Chadwick. Additionally, there was a 20 million option to bring him back for a planned Black Panther 3.
The fact that Marvel jumped on these movies so vehemently is no big surprise. These movies made great money, creating a big surge in the Marvel cinematic community. To make a big splash among the torrent of Marvel cinematic movies is no small feat. The first movie was one of the biggest Marvel hits to date. Worldwide, it made nearly 1.3 billion. This was more than any non-Avengers movie yet.

Boseman was a fantastic actor, and Ryan Coogler a fantastic writer. This immensely timely pairing caused the movie to break a hit almost methodically. For this reason, Marvel no doubt jumped on the chance right away. Things needed to get going with a second, and third Black Panther movie. Because with people on the team like this, the same success was likely to repeat itself.
Without TChalla being played by Chadwick, it is so much more than uncertain what lies ahead for the supposed trilogy. For now, it may not be guaranteed that the film series will move beyond a second movie at this point. It would most definitely be strange to see more installments in the series after the untimely passing of Boseman. Even if a Black Panther 3 were not to happen, the characters and universe of Wakanda will live on.
