Breathe: Into the Shadows
Breathe Season 2 and Undekhi released : Mayank Sharma’s web series Breathe premiered the second season today on Amazon Prime. The follow up is titled Breath: Into the Shadows and features Abishek Bachan, Nithya Menon, and Amit Sadh. The series marks Abhishek’s digital debut. The plot is summed up by the show’s tagline- “a father’s love can save a life or take one. Abhishek plays, Avinash Sabharwal, a psychiatrist with a thriving practice in Gurugram. He and his chef wife, Abha, are parents to a young girl named Siya. Their normal life is disrupted when, at a friend’s birthday party, Siya goes missing. It is hardly about the tragedy of a parent’s loss, but about a person who enters the dark world to bring back his kidnapped daughter.
Kabir Sawant (Amit Sadh), reprises his role from the previous season as a police officer. He absolutely fit for the role and gave a stellar performance to the otherwise lousy plot. ‘Breathe season 2’ fails to impress. Not only the emotion, but even the mystery and suspense created is not that great. There is no much suspense or twists as expected. The series fails to keep you hooked on to the show.
Breathe Season 2
Undekhi
Undekhi is a compelling series. The series has been co-created and written by Sidharth Sengupta and directed by Ashish R Shukla. A crime is caught on camera and yet doesn’t appear to have taken place! It is about the death of a forest officer who died in the Sundarbans with a neck wound suggesting that he has been attacked by a wild animal, but the perception changes when investigating officer Barun Ghosh (Dibyendu Bhattacharya)comes into the scene.
Every episode of the web series comes with a twist. By the end of each episode, they make you anticipate for the next. While the series is dark and intense, a bit of comic relief comes from Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Harsh Chhaya’s characters.
Undekhi has no superstars. But it has a solid story. Actors succeded in breathing life into the characters. Screenplay is commendable. It can be watched on SonyLIV.
