Heavy rains have caused major havoc and panic situation in various districts of Nepal, causing harm to life and properties. There are reports of 10 people being dead while 44 are missing. The massive landslides and floods have caused a panic situation among the people of Nepal.
Nature causes havoc!
Heavy monsoons stimulated landslides in the Sarangkot and Hemjan areas of Pokhara city in Kaski district, where 7 people including 3 children lost their lives. Further, a landslide swept away a house in Sarankot killing 5 of them on Friday, the police said. It has also been reported that around 10 people got injured in the same incident, and are undergoing treatments in different hospitals. Similar instances were also reported from the other districts as well.
Things to keep positive in this quarantine
Three members of a family were killed in Besishahar of Lamjung district and two others also lost their lives in Aathbistok area of Rukum district. In addition, 12 people are supposedly missing after two houses were swept away by a landslide in Jajorkot district.
There are also reports claiming 7 people missing after their house was wiped out by a landslide in Myagdi district. Further, a landslide in the Jogimara area has clogged the Prithvi highway in Western Nepal.
The heavy downpour has also swollen up the major rivers like Narayani and others, further causing huge losses to life and kind. Meteorological Department further added that the heavy rains are likely to continue for the next 3 days and can create alarming situations.
The nature has shown its fury in 2020 and taught the entire world lessons to not mess with it anymore. It is high time that we mend our ways and correct our wrongdoings. The nature needs to heal. we just need to give it our urgent attention!
