Story
Being a period horror It is set in Bengal presidency during 1881. The plot goes as a 5-year old Bulbbul gets married to much older Indranil having a younger twin, Mahendra, and their youngest brother, Satya. Later, Satya returns from London after completing his studies. He finds that his twin Mahendra died mysteriously and Indranil also left home. And, Bulbbul is the Thakurain (owner) of the mansion. The village was also stuck by the stories of men killed by a witch. Bulbbul is a tale of Revenge and justice at its best.

Bulbbul movie is a dark blood-soaked free-floating feminist fairytale. It’s a spine-chilling movie Which helps one to hook till the end. Anvita’s Dutt writing and direction was on the spot. The background music and visual effects were haunting. Bulbbul may not be a
great horror movie but it will definitely hold ones interest till the end.
Most critics said that it is an amazing one-time watch movie but at the same time it’s also a movie that could be predicted by its audience.

Critics View
Revenge dramas many times get into a habit of them being so different from the reality that the audience, even as they are entertained, it disappoints to stick with the story. Bulbbul cleverly uses the fairytale genre here to get the audience. Even if you know what’s unfolding before you is a fantasy, it is just so fantastical that you cannot help but be mesmerized. The actors’ performances, of course, come in handy in this Netflix offering.
