Entrance exams postponement updates in Maharashtra
2020 has made the world stopped. This pandemic has spread worldwide. It has created a lot of issues in the working of various sectors. But most importantly student’s future has stuck with lots of uncertainty. Aspirants who were applying for their higher education after their school life are facing immense problems while applying for colleges. Various entrance exams are on hold for the time been for the safety of the candidates. Many entrance exams are postponed and are decided to be conducted in future.
Various states are taking their take in conduction of entrance as well as other exams. Similarly, Maharashtra has decided to postpone entrance exams for engineering, Law as well as B.ed. After various arguments between the Samant and Thackeray. Finally, the minister of higher and technical education Uday Samant releases the decision about the postponement of entrance exams. The statement released by the government on Monday depicts the entrance exams postponed issue.
Uday Samant statement details
Uday Samant’s statement is due to the reason of Increasing Coronavirus cases. This is only for the safety of the students as well as for the parents who will also come to drop their kids at the centres. This will increase the probability of increasing the cases in the state. Many parents and students requested the minister for delaying the exams. They feel the health is more important than the exams. But they are also worried about the academic future. So they expect a simpler solution for the academic year students. People get panic about COVID-19. Hence they request the postponement of exams and wishes a simpler solution for the admission process.
Following is the statement released on Monday by Uday Samant:
“ There have been continuous requests from students and parents to postpone entrance exams. The decision has been taken for the safety and health of the students. The new dates of all these examinations will be announced soon.”
Various exams facing the issue
The statement includes Entrance exam postponement of following exams:
- MHT – CET
- MArch
- MCA
- LLB ( three years)
- LLB ( five years)
- B Ed
- Hotel management entrance exams
Entrance Exams Details about the postponement
MHT – CET is one of the biggest exams which include five lakhs applicants registering which were scheduled to start from July 4. Five lakhs engineering students and their parents are relieved from the fear of reporting to the exam centres amid the coronavirus increasing cases. But they are gathered via the uncertainty issue regarding their child’s future. Uncertainty stresses the applicants regarding their future. In B. Ed exams over 55000 applicants sit for the examination. While on the other hand there are 43000 and 24000 registered candidates for the course of LLB three year as well as LLB five years respectively.
As these many students are facing delay in their academic year. So law colleges administrative headteachers are suggesting that the state must allow them to take admissions in colleges based on students class XII scores. This may remove the uncertainty issue in the academic future of students.
Tips for avoiding stress amid this situation
Students should use the extra time to study and brush their hard work for the exams which are decided to be conducted in future. Hence, this will help the students to gain success in future. Uncertainty and delaying may stress the students. Stress will not help in conduction of exams or will remove the coronavirus. So stress is considered useless in these situations. If the students feel fear about their academic future. They may refer to the fact that they are not alone stuck in this situation. Many students are stuck in this situation with an uncertain future.
