CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national level entrance exam. The exam is for admissions in UG and PG courses at 22 NLUs and colleges. The exam conducts once a year via offline mode. Till 2018, NLUs conducts on a rotational basis. However, from 2019 the permanent body conducts the exam. This permanent body formed by universities is The Consortium of NLUs. It has its headquarters at NLSIU Banglore.
New Update regarding CLAT 2020 :
The Consortium of NLUs will now hold the exam on September 7, 2020. The exams both UG and PG candidates are from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The exam is via a center-based online test. The CLAT 2020 was earlier scheduled in May. But it got postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
According to reports, the exam is scheduled again in August. But last week it again postponed. As per notifications, the exam is now September 7. An attempt is done by the body that Admits Card is used as a movement pass by students.

As per information, CLAT 2020 admit card will issue on the official website. It will issue within 2 weeks. Candidate must keep visiting the website timely for updates. 22 NLUs offers CLAT admissions to UG and PG courses.
Eligibility Criteria :
CLAT Eligibility for 5-year Integrated courses are:-
-> Candidates who complete 10+2 or equivalent exam for national/state board.
-> They should obtain at least 45% marks for General/OBC categories. 40% marks if belonging to SC/ST categories.
-> There is no age limit to apply for CLAT 2020. This is because BCI removed age limit criteria for admissions to law courses.

CLAT Process :
Candidates seeking admissions must follow the process:-
1st Step: Online Applications
Candidates seeking admissions through the CLAT exam must apply before the last date.
2nd Step: Issuing of Admit Card
Admit cards get an issue to those candidates who submit the form. Admit card mentions details about the candidate, center, location, etc.
3rd Step: Appearing of Exam
Candidates must appear for the exam at the allotted center. They must have their admit card. They must also have a valid photo ID with them.
4th Step: Declaration of Results
They will announce results on the official website along with the merit list.
5th Step: Admission Process
The counseling process will begin online with seat allotment. The applicants must confirm their seats after verification and payment.

CLAT Exam Day Guidelines :
Candidates appearing for the exam should check below:-
- Students should report their test centers at least 1 hour before the exam.
- They should carry CLAT admit card and photo ID with them.
- They should also carry an HB pencil and at least 2 pens.
- Candidates must not carry study material, devices, calculators, etc. They must not carry any other banned inside the exam hall.
