Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
The much-awaited anime of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game is coming to your living room on Netflix in 2022. It has been created by CD Project Red in partnership with Studio Trigger and Netflix. Studio Trigger is responsible for other major hits like Kill la Kill and Promare.
The Cyberpunk 2077 anime will be a 10 episode series. It will be set in the same universe as the game Cyberpunk 2077. Although set in the same Night City it will include new and different characters and a different story.
According to its synopsis, the Netflix anime will tell the story of a “street kid trying to survive in technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as cyberpunk.”
Hiroyuki Imaishi is directing the anime. Masahiko Otsuka is the assistant director and creative director is Hiromi Wakabayashi. Yoh Yoshinari and Yuto Kaneko are the character designers. Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko Otsuka are writing the screenplay.

Cyberpunk 2077(Roleplaying Video-game)
It is based on role-playing (wherein the player controls the actions of a character) video game (RPG), developed by CD Project, which is a Polish company. It is scheduled for a November 19, 2020 release by PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Windows.
The game is set in a dystopian society in a science fiction metropolis. In it, the player tries to go after one of a kind implant which will lead to immortality. It is a science fiction RPG wherein the players can do things that they cannot do in real life. The storyline is strong and entertaining, which uses recorded dialogues and voice-over narration effectively.
The player is in the first-person perspective as V, whose various physical attributes like hair, body type, clothing, etc. are customizable. The choices made by the player shape the story and the world around him. The game will take about 40-50 hours to complete.
Keanu Reeves plays the role of Johnny Silverhand and has lent his voice and has done motion capture for the character. Reeve’s amount of dialogues is second to that of V. After some time of recording, Reeves wanted his amount of dialogues to be doubled. His request was accepted by the creators.
CyberPunk 2077 as of now is a single-player RPG but multi-player mode is expected to be released in 2022.

The Witcher series started in the year 2007. The series was an action role-playing game. Atari published it on windows. It was based on the novel series, The Witcher, written by a Polish author, Adrzej Sapkowski. The story is based on a medieval fantasy world where there is the main character by the name Geralt of Rivia, who has super-powers and is known as Witchers. The Witcher is a genetically enhanced human being with supernatural powers to kill monsters.
Reviews.
The game got mostly positive reviews. Game zone’s Michael Lafferty gave the game 8.8 out of 10. He described it as a deep and immersive game that will “ask you to think and make choices, not just hack and slash your way to glory”.
Witcher 2
Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings were released in In 2011, in the same format as 2007. It is set in same the same polish setting as before. The game was not only a critical success but also a commercial success. It sold 1.7 million copies worldwide.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
It was released in 2015 and is based on the same novel series. In this the protagonist, the witcher is on the lookout for his stepdaughter, who is on the run from another mythical figure, which wants to misuse her powers. The players fight with different creatures with the help of several weapons and get to interact with the non-playing characters. The end depends on the various choices the players make during the game. The game involves both physical- violence as well as moral dilemmas for the players.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales
in 2018, the Witcher series was released and follows the same storyline as the others. It received mostly favorable reviews however did not meet the sales expectations of CDPR.
Though I am not much of a gamer, I am definitely looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. If Witcher series’ reviews are anything to go by, then I hope Cyberpunk 2077 the RPG will too live up to my expectations. I am also fondly waiting for the Cyberpunk 2077 Anime.These animes do big business not only in Japan but all over the world and are favorite with children and adults alike.
