Beyond Light, Destiny 2’s next major extension, is believed to be released soon.
Bungie is making some major content changes in the game. Therefore, it will be safe to say that this year the content of Destiny 2 might undergo some major changes.
Bungie, in the latest weekly developer post; revealed that when Beyond Light releases; Destiny 2 players on all platforms would need to re-download the game again.
There are a number of older maps and missions that are being scrapped. Owing to all these changes, when Beyond Light launches, Destiny 2 players will have to re-download the game in its entirety.
The upside, however, is that the game on the SSD will now be 30 to 40 per cent smaller.
Beyond Light will be requiring a complete re-download across all the devices.

The developers of the game do realize that for the ones with metered or poor internet connectivity, this will be a painful process. Therefore, they the developers in order to turn this issue; have announced the availability of preloading Beyond Light; from the evening of November 9; Pacific Time.
This will leave the gamers with enough time to download the same before the gates open.
Destiny 2 installation size is likely to shrink by 30-40 per cent; which is believed to be between 59 and 71 GB (depending on the platform).
Furthermore, due to a combination of unused; substituted or new content; there will be features facilitating the install size optimizations, and transferring some content to the Destiny Content Vault.
In the coming years, these modifications are likely to facilitate the developers better manage the install activities.
Another fascinating news that’s come out of Destiny 2; is a reconstructed character face system in Beyond Light.
Bungie explained, “We have upgraded to a substantially more capable system that we plan to use in the future for more player customization options. As part of this process, with our Diversity Committee and Employee Resource Groups in the studio, we checked the current player models to make minor tweaks to existing player heads.”
