A little look back

For those of you who have been living under a rock, ‘Friends’ was an American sitcom, made by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, enduring 10 seasons.

With a troupe cast featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the show rotates around six companions in their 20s and 30s who live in Manhattan, New York City.

The course of action was made by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in relationship with Warner Bros.The first official makers were Kevin S. Splendid, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.

Perfect title

Interestingly Kauffman and Crane started creating Friends under the title Insomnia Cafe among November and December 1993. They introduced the plan to Bright, and together they pitched a seven-page treatment of the show to NBC. After a few contents revise and changes, including title changes to Six of One and Friends Like Us, the arrangement was at last named Friends.

Thank God they didn’t name it We were on a break! Ross would be proud though.


It got praise all through its run, getting one of the most well-known TV programs of all time. The TV series was selected for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series grant in 2002 for its eighth season.

 Friends Reunion Update

HBO has affirmed that the cast of Friends will rejoin for a unique on the spilling stage HBO Max. The get-together was supposed to debut in May, HBO says. But with the ongoing scenario of COVID-19, it has been delayed.

Jennifer Aniston, who stars as Rachel, announced the news on Instagram with two words: “It’s happening.”

The gathering will be unscripted and is set to include the series’ makers, David Crane and Martha Kauffman, just as all the actors who portrayed their respective characters. It will be taped in Stage 24 of the Warner Bros studio in Burbank, where Friends recorded its whole run.

Kevin Reilly, the central substance official at HBO Max, told the Hollywood Reporter he was excited to have seen the show “get on with watchers many ages. It takes advantage of a period when companions – and crowds – assembled continuously and we think this gathering exceptional will catch that soul, joining unique and new fans.”


There had been a whirlwind of media reports about a potential get-together since Aniston indicated a year ago that something may be in progress.

Friends Reunion will be aired on HBO Max in the coming days. Meanwhile, all the episodes are being aired on the TV Network.
