Gladys Knight to perform at NBA all-star Game along with Alessia Cara. Gladys Knight will perform United States National Anthem, whereas Canadian Singer will perform Canada’s National Anthem. This year NBA all-star Game will pay Homage to HBCUs ( Historically Black College and Universities), a college or universities Founded for educating African- American Citizens. Gladys Knight Graduated from Shaw University, one of the first HBCU’s in history. Therefore, her performance is significantly important.
As per NBA, Night Will be dedicated to these Universities. Clark Atlanta university Philharmonic choir will also perform on campus. Their performance will Recognize NAACP ( National Association for the Advancement of colored people) leader James Weldon Johnson. He is Clark Atlanta University Alumni and Black national anthem songwriter.
This year’s NBA took really a great initiative, Especially Gladys Knight to perform at NBA all-star and recognizing James Weldon Johnson’s contributions. This kind of initiative is totally required, especially at times like this Where Racism has claimed several lives.
