Reliance officially unveiled the Jio Mart app and it is now available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The e-commerce platform was available as a website: jiomart.com until now. The test website had consumers around 200 cities where they could place orders and pay online. The Jio Mart app makes things much easier for consumers. The app can connect customers with local stores in their areas. For user convenience, similar e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart also have both websites and apps.
It is not to be missed that the app comes after a week of reliance Annual General Meeting 2020. Chairman and Managing Director of RIL, Mr. Mukesh Ambani had then talked about the future developments and his vision about Jio Mart. Besides, he elaborated on the collaboration with WhatsApp aiming at more opportunities and the growth of small scale merchants in the country. He had stated, “JioMart and WhatsApp will be working closely to create growth opportunities for millions of Indian small merchants and enable customers seamlessly transact with local shops.”
JioMart only sells grocery and food items as of now. However, Mukesh has confirmed that the app will soon expand and include electronics, fashion, pharmaceutical, and healthcare categories.
Isha Ambani further stated JioMart will digitally enable, empower, and engage local grocery stores. She added that the partnership with Jiomart can help them grow business and earnings, and to stay connected with customers on the JioMart platform facilitated by a multifunctional POS.
The app offers free home delivery with no minimum order value along with other additional benefits. Multiple payment options like Credit and debit cards, and net banking among others are also available. Furthermore, you do not have to be a Jio user to use JioMart.
