Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard was rushed to the hospital after meeting the GP in Sydney. The 81-year-old had to be sent in an ambulance due to some health issues. He has reportedly admitted himself into the Royal North Shore Private Hospital for some routine health check-ups.
John Howard
John Howard served as the 25th Prime Minister of Australia from 1996 to 2007. Howard is the second-longest-serving Prime Minister of Australia, only behind Robert Menzies. He has also added another feather in his cap as Australia’s oldest living former Prime Minister.
He is one of the most liberal leaders in Australia. People all around the country are quite respective of him. On his last birthday, Howard thanked his stars for having born in Australia. Later, in April, John Howard also praised the efforts made by the Australian governments in dealing with the coronavirus. The former PM also mentioned that Scott Morrison was managing the pandemic situation ‘quite well’. He also confirmed that the two indulged on discussions on the phone quite often.
Howard’s health issues
Being a man of age, John Howard has battled with certain diseases in the course of his long life. Back in 2015, Howard had to battle with blocked arteries. The doctors inserted two stents inserted into his body then to successfully overcome the disease. Since then, The former Prime Minister hasn’t had to complain of any heart-related issues.
A spokesman from his office has confirmed there is nothing to worry about his health. The former PM has admitted himself for some routine check-ups and it is nothing related to the coronavirus. They mentioned that he is just taking some regular precautions towards his health.
Given that John Howard is visiting the hospital just as a precautionary measure, his well-wishers can heave a sigh of relief.
