Mumbai Police summoned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt to report to the Bandra Police Station on July 27. This was to record his statement on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor committed suicide on June 14. Investigation to determine the cause of his suicide is going on. Sushant’s death sparked debates around favoritism, nepotism, and bullying in Bollywood.
Kangana Ranaut, who often raised her voice against such injustice in the industry named some bigshots as movie mafia and suicide gang. This was in an explosive and exclusive interview with Arnab Goswami. Kangana said, ‘Sushant was bullied to death’. The actress also added she could understand it as she was also a victim once. She particularly named producer-director Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, and film critic Rajeev Masand. She voiced criticism for not calling them in for questioning. They were all summoned by Mumbai Police only after her interview created an uproar.
