Mumbai Police stated that the details of actor Sushanth Singh Rajput’s death will be revealed within the next 15 days. They have decided to wrap-up Sushant’s suicide case. The actor committed suicide at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, 2020. No suicide note was found. Recently around five films of Sushanth that he had committed earlier got canceled. He was rumored to be under depression.
Details on the Case
The investigation team already met up with top officials and the forensic team associated with the case. A detailed post-mortem report was also given to the police in which the doctors state reason of death as asphyxia due to hanging. Mumbai police recorded statements of over 35 crucial people. This includes his family, friends, co-stars, and some industry stalwarts. His close friends Sandeep Singh, Nilopol, rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborthy, and filmmaker Sanjai Leela Bansali were questioned in detail. Officials of Yash Raj Films were also questioned. It was speculated that Salman Khan would be questioned but the police dismissed the news.
Mumbai Police also tried to find out the connection between his death and nepotism. Some of his film deals didn’t materialize and went to other actors at the last minute.
Medical prescriptions and medical reports found in Rajput’s room were taken for investigation. The forensic team took the late actor’s cellphone and laptop as part of the investigation and found that he googled his own name and read a few articles about him before committing suicide. The police sent the cloth he used to allegedly hang himself for the tensile strength test to find out if any foul play was involved. Also, the viscera from the actor’s body was sent for chemical and forensic analysis. This will additionally help in determining the exact cause of death.
Even after one month of his suicide, Sushath is still making headlines as people relate his death to nepotism in the industry.
