Rockstar Games, the American video game publisher, in New York City, was established in December 1998 as an ancillary of Take-Two Interactive. Several companies gained, collected by or entrenched under Take-Two have become part of Rockstar Games, Rockstar India the most recent in 2016.
Founders are- Sam and Dan Houser, Terry Donovan and Jamie King, who in the past had worked for Take-Two, the Houser brothers were previously formers at BMG Interactive. Sam Houser heads the studio as president, currently.
Rockstar Games publishes games in the action-adventure genre, while racing games was also beneficial for the company. One of such action-adventure game is Grand Theft Auto, which is best known. Other well known releases includes- Bully, L.A Noire, Red dead, Manhunt, Max Payne, Midnight Club.
Rockstar Games functions and runs eight studios and an international publishing subsidiary.

Rockstar Games announced that they had released their own game launcher, a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications service, in September, 2019. Post the extended break following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in early 2019, Dan Houser left Rockstar Games on the 11th of March,2020.

Films
Rockstar Games labelled Rockstar Films in 2011, and have been considered executive producers of The Football Factory and Sunday Driver and released films, such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The debut and Red Dead Redemption: The Man from Blackwater, have also released a short film to advertise their game Grand Theft Auto 2.

Social club
Rockstar Games Social Club is an online gaming service that was created by Rockstar Games for ratification and multiplayer applications within the games.
Rockstar games launcher
Rockstar Games released its own games launcher for Microsoft Windows on the 17th of September, 2019. The launcher merges with the user’s Social Club account, which allows them to download and buy games that they had purchased through Rockstar’s store. Rockstar games are available from other services, like Steam, from the launcher.
