HCL Tech which is India’s third largest software exporter, communicated that they have appointed Roshni Nadar Malhotra as their new chairperson. This is indeed a very empowering news for all the ladies out there!!
Interestingly, Roshni is also India’s wealthiest woman with a net worth of 31,400 crore according to IIFL Wealth Hurun rankings.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra has contributed as the executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation, vice chairperson of the board of HCL Technologies, and trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. At HCL Corporation, Roshni Nadar Malhotra has been accountable for providing strategic steerage to the organisation.
Shiv Nadar’s key role!
Her father and HCL founder Shiv Nadar will step down as chairman, however he will continue to be the Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer of the establishment.
Ms. Malhotra’s Education!
Malhotra grew up in Delhi and went to Vasant Valley school. She is a well-read woman who has attended some of the renowned and prestigious institutions of the world. She pursued her graduation in Communication from Northwestern University. Further, she did her masters in Business administration from the Kellogg school of management in the United States, with a focus on Social Enterprise Management and Strategy.
To add to that, she has also achieved a lot on the professional front and received a lot many awards and accolades over the years. In addition, she has also been featured in Forbes list of “The World’s Most Powerful Women” from 2017 to 2019.
Further, she has a great hand in the growth of the company. She has been actively and deeply involved in the brand building activities across the HCL group.

Also, she has been closely concerned on the philanthropic aspect over the last decade. With the exception of serving as a trustee on the Shiv Nadar Foundation, she is additionally the presiding officer of VidyaGyan Leadership Academy, that empowers underclass/under-privileged kids through education.
In addition, Roshni Nadar Malhotra established ‘The Habitats Trust’ in 2018. The trust aims to protect the country’s natural habitats and endemic species, with the core mission of making and preserving sustainable ecosystems.
