The lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic has put a lot of upcoming small budget and star studded movies to a halt. This has also made it immensely difficult as it leaves with no option of releasing it on time. The RRR team has previously commented and stated that they were all set for a Sankranti release. The first look was recently launched where Ram Charan is seen in the role of Alluri Sithrama Raju, a warrior from the Manyam region who agitated against the British rule in India.
The film was earlier due for the 30 July 2020. Nevertheless, on 5 February 2020, a fresh delivery date of 8 January 2021 was made widely known. In between massive expectations, the title logo and motion poster were unveiled on 25 March 2020, on the occasion of Ugadi.
