SBI PO 2020: The State Bank of India (SBI) tests a great bunch of young talents every year. They take several candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO). Besides, they sort after people who can serve them with their best capabilities. Hence, the organization conducts the recruitment process. Which, on the other hand, is an elaborate process consisting of 3 rounds.

Notification of SBI PO 2020: 

The SBI authorities are yet to announce the details of the vacancies. However, the vacancies can be around 2000. Generally, the notification comes out by the end of April. However, due to the situation of the pandemic, the announcement did not happen. Bank officials need to take additive precautions to continue the process. Hence the delay. On the other hand, the SBi clerical exam is also not happing as per schedule.

Application Fee:

The Application fee is different for candidates from various castes. The payment will be Online.

  • For the General Caste candidates, the Application Fee is Rs.750/-
  • Also, for the OBC the charge is Rs.750/-
  • However, for ST, SC, and PWD applicants the fee is Rs.125/-

Pay Scale for the PO Posts:

The State Bank of India gives lucrative salaries to its employees. The PO Salary in SBI is one of the highest in the banking sector.

  • The Basic Pay for SBI PO positions is Rs.27620/-
  • Besides, they get a Dearness Allowance (DA) too. It is equivalent to 46.9% of that of the Basic pay.
  • They also get a City Compensatory Allowance (CCA). It is 3 to 4% of the Basic pay. It depends on their posting place.
  • The Furniture Allowance is Rs.1,20,000/-
  • Also, they get a Home Allowance (Leased). It ranges from Rs.8000 to Rs.29500/-
  • Further, Medical Insurance is Additive. 100% of the Medi-claim is available of the employees. On the other hand, the family members get 75% of the Medi-claim.
  • They get Petrol charges of Rs.1100 to Rs.1300/-
  • On the other hand, they get a Travel Allowance of Rs. 1,20,000/-
  • Further, Miscellaneous charges are Rs.4000/-
  • The total Annual Compensation is Rs.7,50,000 to Rs.12,90,000/-

Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO 2020:

Age Limit:

  • The applicant’s age should be above 21 years (As of 1st April 2020)
  • On the other hand, the maximum age should be less than or equal to 30 years. As of 1st April 2020.
  • In other words, the birth date of the candidate should be between 2nd April 1990 to 1st April 1999.

Educational Qualification:

  • The minimum degree for appearing in SBI PO 2020 is Graduation (in any subject). Also, the organization should have an affiliation and recognition.
  • If the candidates are not graduates then they should compulsorily have an equivalent degree. But, it should have recognition from the Central Government.
  • The candidates in the Final Semester or Final year of Graduation can also apply. But, in the interview session, they must produce their passing certificate/any other proof to prove their degrees. Also, the passing date has to be on or before 1st August 2020.
  • Applicants with Integrated Dual Degree (IID) certification can also apply. However, the passing date should be before/on 31st September 2020.
  • Also, the applicants with Chartered Accountant (CA) certification can register.

Number of Attempts in SBI PO 2020:

An individual cannot appear in the examination as many times as he/she wants. The categorization is on the basis of Caste:

  • For General candidates, the maximum number of attempts is 4.
  • On the other hand, General (PWD) candidates can attempt for the SBI PO posts for 7 times maximum.
  • For  OBC and OBC (PWD) candidates, the maximum attempts are 7.
  • However, for ST, ST (PWD), SC, and SC (PWD) candidates, there is no restriction regarding the number of attempts.

Process of Application for SBI PO 2020:

  • The whole process will happen in  Online mode.
  • Besides, the process will initiate between October and November 2020.
  • The applicants should read the Guidelines before starting the process of registration.
  • Also, the candidates should keep their documents handy.
  • Additionally, the scanned photograph should be present.
  • Alongside this, they should have a soft copy of their signature in the system they will use to fill the form.

NOTE: The resolution and size of photographs will be available soon after the release of the SBI PO 2020 notification.

Syllabus of SBI PO 2020:

The SBI PO exams happen in Three Stages. The initiation of the Three-stage process was in 2015. The Syllabus is different for the three stages.

TIER I: Preliminary Stage

The Syllabus of TIER I contains 3 Subjects:

  • English Language
  • Reasoning Ability and
  • Quantitative Aptitude

Syllabus of English Language:

Reading Comprehension, Para Jumbles, and Cloze test are important topics. Besides, Error Spotting, Paragraph Completion are crucial chapters. Grammar topics are inclusive.

Syllabus of Reasoning Ability:

Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning topics are present.

Syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude:

Number Series, Simplification, Ratio, and Proportion are major topics. Also; Interests, Time and Distance, Mensuration, and Data Interpretation are inclusive. Some other topics like Probability, Sequence & Series, etc are present.

TIER I: Mains 

In addition to the Prelims syllabus, there are Two Topics present:

  • General Economy and Banking Awareness
  • Computer Awareness

Syllabus of General Awareness:

Current Affairs, Financial Awareness, and Static Awareness are major topics. Besides, banking awareness topics are present in the syllabus.

Syllabus of Computer Awareness:

Keyboard shortcuts, Microsoft Office are major topics. Also, Computer abbreviations, Computer Hardware & Software. Besides, the candidates should prepare themselves for topics like memory and the internet. Operating System, Networking are also important topics.

TIER III- Group Discussion & Personal Interview:

  • The candidates will have to undergo a group discussion with fellow candidates.
  • Also, the jury panel will ask them questions during the personal interview round.

The Pattern of SBI PO Exam:

TIER I:

In the preliminary round:

  • This stage will be Online. Applicants need to appear for the exam according to the allotment of centers.
  • There will be 100 Questions.
  • Also, the Question Type will be Multiple Type Questions (MCQs).
  • The Duration of this round is 60minutes/1 hour.
  • However, the timing is separate for separate sections of the paper.
  • The English Language will have 30 Questions, each question carrying 1 mark. i.e. total marks in the section are 30. On the other hand, the duration of this section is 20 minutes.
  • Quantitative Aptitude will contain 35 Questions. Each correct answer will provide 1 positive mark to the candidate. i.e. total marks for this section is 35. Besides, the duration of this section is 20 minutes.
  • Reasoning Ability will have 35 Questions. Each question carries 1 mark. i.e. 35 marks in total. However, the duration is 20 minutes.

NOTE: Each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks. The cutoff announcement will happen during the result declaration.

TIER II:

In the Mains, there will be 200 marks for Objective Type Questions. Whereas, there are going to be 155 Questions in total. The total time for these questions is 3 hours. Also, there will be Descriptive Type Questions of 50 marks. The total time for descriptive questions is 30 minutes.

Objective Type Questions:

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: There will be 45 Questions in this section. The total marks are 60. Besides, the duration is 60 minutes.
  • English Language: Total Questions will be 35. However, the marks for this section are 40. Besides, the duration is 40 minutes.
  • General/Financial/Banking Awareness: 40 Questions will be present in this section. The total marks are 40. However, the duration is 35 minutes.

NOTE: No separate cutoff for separate sections.

Descriptive Type Questions:

  • Letter Writing
  • Essay Writing
  • The evaluation will happen only if they qualify in the Objective Type Questions’ paper.

TIER III:

  • Group Discussion carries 20 marks
  • On the other hand, the Interview carries 30 marks.
  • The selection will take place after calculating the aggregate of TIER II and TIER III.
  • The Bank decides the Qualifying marks in these rounds.
