Schools in Haryana to reopen on July 27

School reopening declaration in Haryana
Kanwar Pal, Haryana Education Minister shortly declared, however, after a long stretch of lockdown, the schools in Haryana will reopen for teachers and non-academic staff in Haryana from July 27, 2020.
Kanwar Pal made it very clear, though, from July 27, schools will reopen, but students will not attend schools till further declaration. Only teachers and non-academic staff will come.
The Directorate School Education of Haryana has also announced the summer vacations from July 1 to July 26, 2020, in all the schools of the state.
Status of Coronavirus Pandemic in Haryana
However, in Haryana, amid the school reopening, the COVID 19 cases are on the rise, it has increased to 14,941 on Wednesday (July 2, 2020), including 393 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.
The state Health Department said, however, there are 4,202 active cases in the state, but the recovery and discharge of patients are much more. The patients who had overcome the coronavirus attack are 10,499. The recovery rate of people in the state is 70.27 per cent while the death rate is only 1.61 per cent.
Resume of Classes after school reopening in Haryana
The Haryana state released the order of school reopening to keep the studies of students unaffected. Currently, students are on summer break from July 1 to July 26 and will re-open from July 27, 2020. However, in the real sense, the school opening will only be for teaching and non-teaching staff.
The state’s Education Department said on Wednesday, the classes of students will continue via video conference on the reopening of schools. The students are suffering due to COVID 19 pandemic lockdown. The staff will conduct and monitor studies from their respective classrooms.
School Reopening Notice in Haryana
The notice of school reopening is primarily, for teaching and non-teaching staff. However, Staffs were already coming to schools to monitor online classes and now have been given summer vacations till July 26, 2020. Mahavir Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (School Education), said, the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) guidelines will decide the recommencement of classes in the schools. Very soon there will be a release of guidelines.
The current order has also said, the higher studies institutes, all universities and colleges will remain shut till July 31, 2020. Thereafter, the government will release a new order. Anyways, for the prevention of the further spread of the COVID-19 virus, the precautionary measures are a must.
The order specified the “e-learning for the students should be in continuation until a further decision on re-opening higher education centres is taken. The vice-chancellors and all stakeholders will take the decision
Attending Physical classes’ at all the educational institutions across the country were ceased in March 2020. Since the first phase of the coronavirus lockdown was declared in the country. Since that time, many schools and educational institutions were taking online classes.
Central Government guidelines for school reopening in Haryana
In May 2020, the central government said, for re-opening of schools and other educational institutions the decision will be taken in July 2020. After knowing the ground realities of the coronavirus outbreak, the matter will be discussed with parents, the governments of states and union territories and all stakeholders.
However, guidelines were released by the centre on July 1, 2020, for “Unlock 2”, the second stage of India’s emergence from the coronavirus. The government said schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till July 31.

Prior to this declaration, many states had already announced to keep educational institutions closed for now. Odisha shut down till August 31, and both Bengal and Delhi said to remain shut till July 31.
The government has given clear instructions for reopening the schools, the strict guidelines to follow. The Union Health Ministry will release a list of SOPs (standard operating procedures). Anyhow, these SOPs will help students to fight with the COVID 19 pandemic. One has to ensure social distancing in order to avoid further spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The High Court of Punjab and Haryana allowed private schools to collect tuition fee. However, the online classes were given to the students during the coronavirus lockdown period. Thereafter, the Haryana government immediately released the order of school reopening.
The court has also said, all schools have to try and impart online learning so education would not get badly impacted. May be due to the current lockdown conditions or similar situations would occur in the future.

Particularly, the reopening of educational institutions would bring lots of changes in the teaching scenario. There occurred immediate shut down of the educational institutes after the central government lockdown announcement in March, due to coronavirus pandemic.
Government has also said, after the school reopening, the demo classes will run in a few schools. This will be to find out the ways to run classes safely for the children. Once the school reopens lots of precautions has to be taken.
However, there is a serious concern; the schools are now reopening in the state when the coronavirus cases have gone up to 14,548. This becomes a very serious matter, which has to be dealt cautiously.
With the latest information on July 2, 2020, Faridabad and Gurgaon – the two major cities of the Haryana state have reported 91 and 77 coronavirus-related deaths, respectively. More than 9,000 COVID cases are existing in the districts of Haryana- Faridabad and Gurgaon.
