Has been helping thousands of stranded Indian migrant workers to get back home, throughout India during the nation wide lock down due to Covid-19 pandemic by arranging buses, trains and flights for them. Not only this he also gave his Mumbai hotel for the accommodation of frontline workers.
The actor was working on this initiative, ‘Ghar Bhejo’, with his restaurateur friend since late March by organizing buses on their own to help migrant workers reach their home towns.
Until he gathered praise and support from his peers and the nation.

Apart from this Sonu Sood recently helped 177 migrant workers stuck in Kerala to reach their home towns. After taking necessary precautions and permission, he arranged aircrafts for workers that flew from Kochi to Bhubaneswar.
He has also sent over a thousand workers to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar via railways.
After buses for migrant workers, actor Sonu Sood also air lifted 167 women who were stuck in Kerala’s Ernakulam due to stitching and embroidery in a local factory.
Most airports were shut for passenger movement but the actor arranged for permission from the government and got Kochi and Bhubaneswar airport opened.
The Air Asia flight took them to Bhubaneswar, from where they were transported to their homes in Kendrapara.
Recent meeting with Maharashtra Governor
The actor has recently met with Maharashtra’s governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday at Raj Bhavan.
To apprise and compliment him for the dedicated work that he was doing to help the migrant workers amid the Corona virus, nation wide lock down by safely transporting them home.
The governor praised and applauded him for his work and assured him full extensive support for his noble initiative.
The governor also took a picture to Twitter of himself in a conversation with actor Sonu Sood.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, also took to Twitter to praise Sonu wholeheartedly.
The actor has been getting praises and support by many ministers including Smriti Irani who mentioned just how proud she was to see one of her close friends in the industry doing something for the society.
Recently a fan also sketched the actor in Bhagat Singh’s avatar, where the actor replied that he didnt deserve it and that Bhagat Singh is his idol and the nation’s pride.
