Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot as Cleopatra!

Something new is brewing! Two main women responsible for success of Wonder Women will join forces for another epic movie. Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot as Cleopatra in a new movie directed by Patty Jenkins. This will mark Gal’s entry into the biopic area. The Israeli star and face behind Wonder Woman is all set to play the Legendary Queen Cleopatra. This will not be the first period drama on the Historical Legend, in 1963 Elizabeth Taylor had played Cleopatra. She had even won four Oscars for her performance.

And neither is Patty Jenkins movie the only one lined up to go in production. Another project on Cleopatra is been developed by Amy Pascal, the Sony Producer. Her biopic will be based on the book by Stacy Schiff. So this means in the near future apart from Gal Gadot as Cleopatra we may also get to see Angelina Jolie play the Egyptian Queen. But now it seems Angelina Jolie may have been replaced by Lady Gaga. For Sony’s Cleopatra the latest update is that Eric Roth may be penning down the script.

Cleopatra a different Experience
Gal Gadot as Cleopatra
“Wonder Woman Vs Cleopatra”

After being famous for her role as Wonder Woman Gal Gadot as Cleopatra will be a really different experience for fans. It was reported that many big players were bidding for this project like Netflix, Apple, Warner Brothers and Universal. But Paramount pictures beat them all and won the bid. The major reason to win the deal it seems was their promise for accelerated production and a high budget big screen release.

Though the Sony’s Cleopatra has been in the run for some time now, there has been no real progress. The last person who was seen as Cleopatra was Elizabeth Taylor. And what a wonderful performance she had given, the movie was a raging success. While you might not know this but when it was released Cleopatra was the most expensive film made.  And now it seems Gal Gadot as Cleopatra will take the tale of the Egyptian to new heights.

Patty Jenkins Cleopatra is rumored to be penned down by Laeta Kalogridis. Patty and Gadot’s last project together was Wonder Woman 1984 and its release is pushed back to Christmas 2020.  And looks like now Paramount and Sony would race to reach the finish line. Let’s see which one finishes first.
