The Team Behind Anime
The original TV series was aired from October 6 to December 22, 2016. The Japanese anime series was produced by MAPPA. In addition, it was directed and written by Sayo Yamamoto.
The original scripts were written by Mitsurō Kubo. They were written under the chief supervision of Jun Shishido. The character designs were produced by Tadashi Kiramatsu. The music was created by Taro Umebayashi.
Lastly, Kenji Miyamoto beautifully crafted the figure-skating choreography. Kenji Miyamoto was a former competitive ice dancer. She is now a figure skating choreographer and coach.
Characters (Yuri on Ice Season 2)
It took the talent of Tadashi Kiramatsu and so many others to produce these characters. Without them, this show would not exist.
Yuri Katsuki (Yuri K.) is 23 years old and is the main character of the show and a competitive ice skater.
Victor Nikiforov is 27 years old. He’s a figure-skating champion, and he’s Yuri’s idol. In addition, Victor considered retirement and later trained Yuri K. Yuri Plisetsky (Yuri P.) is 15 years old. He is a Russian figure-skating prodigy and rival of Yuri K.
Yakov Feltsman was Yuri K.’s Russian coach. However, Yuri broke it off with him after a series of losses. Later on, Victor started training him. The show also revolves around several other characters and competitors. Some examples are Otabek Altin, Christophe Giacometti, Kenjirou Minami, and Jean-Jacques Leroy.

Yuri on Ice Series Plot: Season 1 and Season 2
This article includes both the Season 1 and Season 2 plot of Yuri on Ice. Because you have to know the plot of Season 1. Without it, you can’t understand the plot of Yuri on Ice Season 2. You simply can not have one without the other.
Yuri on Ice Season 1 Storyline
In episode 1, Yuri Katsuki was a failing ice skater. He came in the last place at the Sochi Grand Prix Final. That contest was early on. Afterward, he lost the Nationals competition.
Yuri graduated from college and went to live with his mother to figure out his future. In addition, Yuri broke it off with his Russian ice-skating coach, Yakov Feltsman.
Victor Nikiforov saw a viral video of Yuri K. He was figure-skating the same routine he did during his last competition. Therefore, he was impressed and visited Yuri K., and has decided to train him.
Yuri P. travels to Japan on episodes 2 and 3 to get a choreographed routine that Victor promised him. Victor decides to have Yuri K. and Yuri P. compete against each other.
This will determine who he’ll train for the competition. After Yuri K. wins, Yuri P. travels back to Russia to be coached by Yakov Feltsman. As the series continues, Yuri K. must now train his hardest to win at the Grand Prix Final and make his family, and Victor, proud.
Yuri on Ice Season 2 Storyline
The Storyline of Yuri on Ice Season 2:-
Yuri K. successfully wins a medal at the Grand Prix Final at the end of Season 1. However, Yuri P. ends up winning the gold medal while Yuri K. wins the silver.
Both Yuri K. and Victor had recently started a relationship with each other, as well. Unfortunately, Victor also revealed his wish to return to competitive skating. As a result, Yuri K. decided to move to St. Petersburg, Russia.
He did this to train with Victor and Yuri P. In addition, he wanted to be with Victor, the man he has always admired. There hasn’t been any news about the storyline of Yuri on Ice Season 2.
However, it can be predicted that the plot will center around Yuri K. and Victor. Furthermore, how their relationship might struggle to adapt to a new environment. And more importantly, because of the fact that they will now have to compete against each other!
Release Date of Yuri on Ice Season 2
Many fans have been panicking. They don’t know if Yuri on Ice Season 2 will be canceled. Yuri on Ice Season 2 was set to be released by the end of the year 2020. However, due in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic, production has halted.
This is similar to many other well-known shows. Other producers were forced to delay shooting their films/series. It’s predicted that the release date might be pushed to the end of 2021.
However, there is no doubt that Yuri on Ice Season 2 will eventually be released.
The show has a wide fanbase. Furthermore, it has an increasingly large number of viewers. Due to this fact, people do not have to worry about Season 1 being the first and final season.
